Okay, clear the puke out and tell me why UIC, Loyola and/or Valparaiso would not be good choices.

I can live with any of those. If we choose UMKC (and the presidents approve them) I will march up to Elgin and kick him square in the nuts next Arch Madness.

I'm complacement with Loyola.

UIC would be insane as long as Loyola is on board.

Valpo is somewhat reasonable, although there's long range concerns. It's not that long ago they made one leap from going Summit -> Horizon. This would be another.

UMKC is a terrible idea and Elgin should feel bad for it being in play.

UMKC is so bad of a potential target that Elgin should step down for even considering it.

I am not an Elgin apologist but the Valley is not what it used to be. Elgin can't take a crap without the consent of our respective university presidents. We do not know what steps have been taken with other, shall I say, higher profile/larger market schools. Yes I fear for our collective schools and the conference.

Go Valley!!

Go Shocks!!!!

are you absolutely kidding us? UMKC was dead last in the summit league and ran off to the wac.

this just proves to me and everyone else, that the current mvc doesnt want competition (ie- adding NDSU &/or sdsu) you guys want to take a doormat? reallY.

cmon, bring the MVFC and MVC together as brothers and let me post like a brother!!

make the MVFC FBS and lets really pump up this conference!!!

I really think this is more of a courtesy call than anything. Hopefully it's Elgin saying they like the idea of UMKC. Great fit geographically, and a market we want to be in. Turn yourself into a winner with your new coach, make the Muncipal Auditorium into a decent home court advantage, and we may be back when the next conference realignment shoe drops.

I totally agree with this, he's just telling them what changes need to be made in order to be under serious consideration for future expansion.

I think the time is now for UMKC in the MVC. New coach, MVC membership greatly enhances recruiting. Memorial is a great facility. KC a great, long time BB town. Right now UMKC fits into the middle/lower third of the of the MVC. Several long term current members arren't exactly burning up the courts. SIU, SIU, Bradley, Drake and probably ILSU are running on flat tires.

Get some new blood in the MVC. Someone in the region!
