Next Year Predictions

I'm loving the SIU/Maroon Kool Aid being passed around, but I just can't see how they will be higher than 7th; realistically I see them in the 9th or 10th slot again. Daniels is already gone, and he was our entire post presence. Too many unknowns, although I really like our guard front with DJ (assuming he stays), Beane, and Pendleton.

Im still struggling to see why anyone would have Illinois state higher than 8th. They will be a complete train wreck. SIU is going to be awful if Jackson is not there. If he is a 5th-6th place finish is in order. WSU is clear 1, ISU-B clear 2. After that the conference is down with UNI and MSU having a chance to surprise and have a NIT or Valley tourney title type season. That's about it.

I can't figure out what people are seeing at SIU. Is it just the second year under a new coach. The recruits aren't bad, but aren't stars are they? I think they will be about the same again.

I have nothing against SIU and I like Barry, but I don't see it.

I think it's respect for Hinson, as well a little bit a case of "who do you put there instead?" They competed really well this year for being an undersized team that little was expected from. If he can get that effort out of them next year and improve the talent even somewhat, could see them moving into the middle of the pack.
