That's where the Memphis data comes from:

Jonathan Lintner confirms this, via an anonymous source (who is very likely UE's president)

If this is indeed true, then it's very disappointing to say the least.

I'm going to hold out hope that somebody jumped the gun and is running with iffy info just so that they can be the first to break the story. In realignment this has happened before.

I just went to their athletic website. They are called the Ramblers. And they wear ugly colors. Two things they have in common with one of my ex-girlfriends. Terrific.

Remind me again why they are better than UIC?

I don't know if they're better than UIC, but I do know that UIC ALSO blows as an option.

Don't worry, if WSU leaves maybe the Illinois Valley Conference can add them next.

On their basketball website. Three of the top 5 stories are about the 1963 Loyola team that evidently did something special. They are coached by Porter Moser. And they have men's volleyball instead of baseball.

My fact finding mission is not making this seem like a great addition. I'd assume that Elgin knows this but I don't know how much due diligence is done anymore. I wonder how Loyola wined and dined their way into this.

I'm assuming that Elgin has been Googling "Loyola" and got really excited at the idea of adding a 23 win team with a top 100 RPI, and doesn't understand what our complaints are about.

Loyola does have a message board. I just found it. I'm on the fence about joining. I get the feeling I could quickly wear out my welcome there.

Somebody on their board opined that they should not neglect the impact of their Track team's success and recently producing a couple of All-Americans and that this could have been key in getting a Valley invite. I am not kidding. We have made the Valley a better Track and Field conference today. So you know if Missouri State can get a leg up on a couple of javelin throwers at Lincoln Way Central (Chicago area HS) or something then it was all worth it.

Is this really happening? Guffaw.
