It's hard for me to see the bottom of the Valley as ever being bad..seems any team can about win any night.
Last year one of the bottom teams beat a final four team during the season, mid-pack teams can beat the top team then lose to the bottom team.

It's what makes it interesting, been that way for years.

Have to agree with musiccitybulldog on that. Don't see the bottom teams in The MVC being "bad". Those teams may be a step (or a step and a half) behind the top 3 schools, but IMHO think some of those so-called "bad" Valley teams are going to do just fine for themselves out of conference.

So terming the lower half Valley teams as "bad" is just plain wrong.

I think the 4 Thursday teams will have a loosing record in and out of conference. They'll win a game or two against the top 3 MVC teams, but they'll have an RPI around or above 200...not good.

I could be wrong about the bottom 4 having an RPI at or above 200, however, last year three were above 190 and one was above 200. Loyola was also above 200. Now that Creighton is gone, I expect he overall RPI to be down. I do not expect the bottom three to be significantly better this year vs. last. Perhaps MSU, but that's it.

Replace 2 SoS games against #22 Creighton with 2 SoS games against #221 Loyola and make a guess what that's going to do the rpi's of the lower Valley teams. If a teams' rpi is in the 150+ range, they probably get n rpi boost by losing to Creighton. Replace that with taking an rpi hit winning against Loyola.

I'm not saying Loyola is going to be a 200+ rpi team again this year, but they will be a major rpi hit to the league when compared to Creighton.

The issue will be the noncon records and RPI as the conference games do little to change league RPI as you always have a W and a L, it just a matter of who. Creighton's 14-15 wins will simply go to another Valley team[s]. So we will have a pretty complete view of things by the end of December conference RPI wise, from there it's just pecking order.

This is true. I believe that the bottom three or four teams, however, will be significantly worse than the top six. If that gap translates to more losses (and I believe it will) then those teams are likely to have very bad RPIs. As was pointed out before, those 14 losses that Creighton bestowed on the rest of Valley will be redistributed, but they will be at the hands of a mediocre to poor team RPI wise.

We will not finish below both Drake and Evansville. No way.

Drake and Evansville will have to be historically bad because this years SIU team will be worse than last years. I think 4 or 5 conference wins should be considered a success. Finishing 8th should have BH in discussion for COY.
