So If Walt leads in PPG,SPG, APG, and TO pg.... Should he be POY? I say Yes specialy if we top 3!

A charge is a TO am I correct? Also, the new rule of not being able to slide under and player who has left his feet should help boost his numbers since his TO"S will become FT"S

He will NOT lead in assists per game. Was he even in the top 10 last year?

8th in MVC play, which makes him #2 among returning Players.

Of course I hope he survives the entire season. I can't stand to see any kid get hurt.

Nothing I want more than healthy Valley teams winning games, just not against the Shocks.

I mean it just seems to be what people say. It gives me a erry feeling about it. Why is the first thought when talking Walt is " If he gets hurt Bu is done for" vs "Ya, that Walt Lemon is the fastest in the MVC and these new rule changes are gonna make him near unstopable!"

Hes not going to get hurt! If he does its a fluke the kid isnt injury prone or anything!

Players who play 34+ minutes per game are much more likely to get hurt than players who play 27 minutes per game. It takes a toll.

Playing 36 minutes against Indiana State when trying to pull off a big conference win isn't a big deal. Doing it against an NAIA team out of necessity makes it look like he'll need to play those kind of minutes every game, which is a big deal.

Also, when you get into Walt's points/boards/assists per 40, he drops down the leader board quite a bit, yet his Turn-overs are still #1. Since Bradley isn't a "winner" as of yet, that's a negative in my book.

That's not to say he isn't one of the best 5 players in the league, but he is a dark horse for POY, not a front-runner.

To tie a bow on this, our MVCfans.com preseason team includes:

Cleanthony Early - Wichita State (POY)
Jake Odum - Indiana State
Marcus Marshall - Missouri State
Walt Lemon Jr - Bradley
Seth Tuttle - UNI

To be completely honest, these are the same five that I planned to select as well.

I imagine this will be pretty close, unless the league champ wins by 2+ games.

I don't think anyone can be upset about these picks. Very likely, 4 of the 5 could finish in the top half of the standings. I still think Bradley will struggle but there is always someone from nowhere selected it seems.
