Why is the first thought when talking Walt is " If he gets hurt Bu is done for" vs "Ya, that Walt Lemon is the fastest in the MVC and these new rule changes are gonna make him near unstopable!"
Hes not going to get hurt! If he does its a fluke the kid isnt injury prone or anything!
Players who play 34+ minutes per game are much more likely to get hurt than players who play 27 minutes per game. It takes a toll.
Playing 36 minutes against Indiana State when trying to pull off a big conference win isn't a big deal. Doing it against an NAIA team out of necessity makes it look like he'll need to play those kind of minutes every game, which is a big deal.
Also, when you get into Walt's points/boards/assists per 40, he drops down the leader board quite a bit, yet his Turn-overs are still #1. Since Bradley isn't a "winner" as of yet, that's a negative in my book.
That's not to say he isn't one of the best 5 players in the league, but he is a dark horse for POY, not a front-runner.
