What a bunch of insecure, dumb*** responses. Only a couple of insecure Valley fans would actively root against a conference foe in a non-conference game, which in turn hurts their own team because they can't stand some internet message board fans. That is pure genius.

WSU is the only reason right now that this conference is barely hanging onto a top 10 rating and not meandering around in obscurity.

Ironic that the two fans actively rooting for WSU to lose are the ones that have got torched by SWAC teams in the last year. Go figure.

Guys, we better take it easy. We are hurting the poor WSU's fans feelings that we aren't rooting for them.

I love how WSU fans talk out of both sides of their mouths. From one side you get 'Everyone should be cheering for WSU because we are the "only" thing holding this conference together' and out of the other you get 'if you want to be a big boy conference, you need to act like it.'

Let me ask this, do you like conference rivals are cheering for each other out of the big boy conferences? Or even in the MWC, A10, WCC, or CUSA?

I agree that rooting for any Valley team to lose a non-con game is moronic, but I think being the first poster on the scene after a loss, gloating and pouring salt all over the wounds would put you in the same category. You take an awful lot of glee on the other teams losses. That also defines insecure.

All Shocker fans were for Creighton the last few years.

There were lots of Shocker fans rooting for Creighton in the non-conference the last few years. There are also a couple of differences in that scenario.

1. WSU-CU was a rivalry.
2. Neither WSU nor CU had their post-season success tied to the success of the other team. Both were good enough and scheduled well enough to succeed or fail on their own. Say what you want about the bravado of WSU fans right now, but how many teams are going to make the NCAA tournament this year without beating WSU twice? Once?

And there you have it folks. WSU fans are the worst, so other teams fans want them to lose, even though losing is bad for them.

I guess misery, or in this last case, Mizzery State, loves company.

For the record, I hope you guys torch Louisville tonight.

That's a "cross" I'll bear when the time comes.

Even if all the WSU fan magically disappeared, I would still root against WSU.

I think it might be more accurate to say "to get respect from other fans, you must first have a team that doesn't perennially suck the big one."

Frankly, I don't think Shocker fans give a crap if fans of other Valley teams root for the Shox, against the Shox, or just don't care. There is always plenty of room on the bandwagon, but there are plenty enough folks on board to have a grand time as it is. But don't spend all your time trying to belittle the legitimate accomplishments of a program, root against it, and then expect fans of said program to start up a chorus of kumbaya.

I have to say I'm a bandwagon WSU fan now. The F4 run last year converted me. Along with Carl Hall, Ron Baker and company. I don't see how you can help but admire a program that has accomplished all that they have with attendence, player recruiting, coaching retention, W/L results, etc.

But I'm a Bears fan 1st of course.
