With all due respect AD, the good Doctor has a point in wanting to make things clear, and it's really not a matter of lightening up. If you had made this comment about not being treated right at a WSU game, there were posters who would take your comment as truth and run with it, then others would chime in and before long there would be a 10 page thread devoted to how bad WSU fans are. Granted this is not the old Valley Board and I hope it never turns into that. If you do, in fact, make it to the game, I for one will make it a point to come down and ask "Which one of you fine fans is Ace Dad" and then shake your hand. However, I better do that a halftime because IF EU has another fluke game and winds up winning (ala Butler), I will probably not be in as good a mood (just kidding).

Shocker fans are fine. I usually wear a CU sweatshirt 4-5 games a year and catch a little ribbing, but nothing I don't chuckle about. That popcorn is killer stuff!!

Only fans I've ever really had any issues with are SIU fans and that was a long time ago at the height of the rivalry. I have had good conversations with some since then. I don't think you could have a more profane arena than Carbondale though....the stories I've heard about that place are pretty intense.

MVCDrMVC.....you forgot pompoms on your last post. way out of character.

I've attended one game at Wichita State....it was Drake's MVC opener in the season of their magical run to the MVC championship.

I was sitting in the middle of thousands of WSU fans with a bright blue Drake shirt on. I encountered no problems at all with any fans at all. I even had a chance to have several cold frosty beverages with various WSU fans both before and after the game.

A Wichita State Valleytalk poster bought lunch for me in 2005 and I still owe him lunch and cannot rememeber the name he posted on. Please send a PM so I can reciprocate.

I take back my popcorn comment because I cannot take the stress. LMAO!

Let's talk basketball.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Wel it guess its better to be pelted with popcorn then bananas. I went to a Wyoming-Colorado State game and the Wyo fans threw bananas at the CSU fans (and team). Seems one time the CSU coach said the Cowboys played like a bunch of goriallas. From then on when the game was played it Laramie out came the bananas.

I sit 2 rows back and about 10 seats away from the guy who threw the water bottle.

I was unaware there was armed security, but the guys who came to escort him out of the building weren't the guys with "SECURITY" written on their t-shirts.

Having been to over 20 Creighton true away games, the last thing you would want is to wear in your colors to a game and not be noticed. There is nothing better than wearing your colors into an away game and getting "the look". It is an honor to have popcorn thrown on you for just wearing your colors. I treasure my picture wearing blue taken pregame in Carbondale with students wearing the IH8TCR8TN shirts flipping me off. Imagine the wrath of the popcorn throwers wife. I bet after she was done with him the dude doesn't throw popcorn ever again.

Enjoyed going to the games out in Laramie. Skiing in Medicine Bow and stopping off in Centennial for a hot one.
