It's moronic to think preseason polls hold any value. They are predictions & most of them are wrong when you compare pre-season to post-season.

Everyone was correct in their preseason pick last year except....Muller. Moronic indeed.

So that's your justification for anybody picking Loyola to win the Valley this year?

That's definitely moronic alright.

Anyway. Poll seems to make sense based on what we all know now, and matches pretty closely to our own voting. The first team and honorable mention selections also don't hold any surprises. Seems to match pretty closely to my own voting, at the very least.

WSU high. A group of 3-4 quality teams grouped tightly (I have Loyola a little closer to the others). A group of teams we aren't sure about. And Bradley.

I won't jump to any conclusions. Muller may have learned his lesson last year. Probably his obsession with WSU subsided when they finally got a win in the MVC Tournament. Loyola has some nice talent. I could see Moser, Muller, even Gregg throwing a vote that way. Who knows. I doubt anyone tells this year.

I'm shocked, year after year after year, that UNI has only 1, sometimes 2, All Conference caliber players yet has the longest streak of avoiding the PIG, and finishes top half every single year.

That tends to happen with quality coaching.

Last year WSU came in losing an NBA player in Early, their big guys, and some role players so after Fred, Ron, Evan and Tekele there were question marks. We had a pretty solid core returning with some key players becoming eligible (MM, TH) and DAP coming in. Looked like we may have a shot but injuries really slowed us down in conference losing DAP and TH for a number of games. Once we finally got healthy we showed at the end of the year the team Dan I believe thought he had winning 7 of last 9 counting NIT.

The poll this year looks like it's what all of us expected wsu in front with evansville through Loyola being 2-5 which can be interchangeable once the year starts. Hopefully we can get another year of multiple bids into the tourney, and everyone stays healthy! Can't wait for tipoff!

At some point, intelligent people might start to realize that all these question marks keep getting filled in with all-league types, and quit doubting the pipeline.

Or, they might continue to be surprised by losing the league by 5+ games.

Why did Muller vote for his team last year, but not this year?

Shows a complete lack of confidence is this years team, does it not? I mean. Last year his players were good enough to get his vote, but not this year?

2 of his top 3 players from last year are no longer with the program.
