1. It is November, not January.
2. WSU has not been playing MVC teams.

I would take the current Shocker squad to finish 2nd or higher in the Valley. Another month of experience, practice, and adjustment for the young Shockers, and they would compete at the top of the league.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but it may.

Not really worth it's own thread like the ISUr-UK game, but UNI defeated North Texas 93-70.

Game was 43-41 UNT at halftime. Jacobson probably had some choice words regarding the defense (UNT was shooting 70% from the field).

Biggest surprise was that UNI was led by Bennett Koch's 18 pts and backup center (at least for this game) Klint Carlson also chipped in 12. Nice production from the sophomore's in the 5 spot tonight. 4 other Panthers scored in the double digits as UNI hit 90+ in back-to-back games (never thought I'd type something like that).

Bohannon 16 (4-5 3 pt)

Morgan 15 pts 8 rebs

Washpun 12 pts 7 ast

Austin 10 pts

Panthers play @ Richmond on Saturday. Hopefully the extended break between games gives us plenty of time to prepare for these upcoming A-10 teams (play @ George Mason 12/8)
[Insert snappy comeback]

Panthers just need to keep picking up the wins! Encouraging with the play of the bigs...missing pieces.

The confidence Bennett is playing with is pretty crazy. He is only about 230-240 right now and was going against guys that were 265-280 and was keeping them off the block and staying on his block.

What really surprised me is his face up game. 10-15 feet out he faces up, shot fakes, has much better vision than I thought he had on cutters, etc... There was one time he shot faked from the elbow, blew by his man and was going for a pretty monster jam until he was fouled on the way up. He attacks the rim unlike any big UNI has had in a while. I think he's had more dunks in the last 2 or 3 games than most UNI bigs since 06 combined.

Sorry uniftw, must have missed the Eric Coleman years, he was trying to dunk any opening he got. Bennett has been aggressive but only has like 4 dunks in the last couple of games.

Bennett is reminding me of Adam more than Jake. He's longer than Adam (about 2 inches taller) and hasn't shown an outside game (but Adam really didn't until jr/sr years), but he can face up and put it on the floor, runs the floor well, can finish inside with a variety of moves and can draw fouls. His FTs have been suspect but hit 8-10 last night.

Overall 7 Panthers have scored in double digits in at least two games including Carlson who has only played 3. The only 3 who haven't are 10th man Knar, back-up post Friedman (unlikely to score a lot) and Wyatt Lohaus, who is getting time at the 1 spot this year behind Washpun and hasn't looked to shoot as much.
