They don't. There is a basketball court on top of the ice rink. The Ford Center is also home to the Evansville Thunderbolts, which is a minor league ice hockey team in the Southern Professional Hockey League. Generally moisture on the floor in not a problem unless the temperature is warm and humid. I saw Norton go down live and again watching the broadcast. It looked like his foot stopped moving and down he went. Didn't look like a moisture slip.

Are you serious, Clark?

Ice rinks for hockey stay put. Flooring (rubber, I think?) is put down over the ice. Then the removable hardwood court is placed down on top of it.

Last night's OKC Thunder/LA Lakers game was played on top of an ice rink too. Didn't seem to be an issue.
Both the Lakers and Clippers play games on top of the LA Kings ice rink.

Is there any way to slow that video down so he could actually see what hockey is?

Ice under basketball is very common at many arenas. Nearly if not every city that has both NHL & NBA share the arena with this setup. The Enterprise Center (formerly Scottrade Center St. Louis) does this setup for Arch Madness every year.

Nick Norton is the best player in the Valley, bar none. A 100% healthy Norton not only cuts down the nets in STL but wills Drake to a monster upset in March.

Norton is that good. He makes everyone better. He’s mentally tough as nails and wills teams to wins in games they have no business winning. That’s rare. One of the most special players in the Valley in a long time.

I appreciate your enthusiasm. You need to pump the brakes quite a bit but I appreciate your enthusiasm.

Norton no doubt was having a very good year, but it's not like we don't have a history to assess his play by. His teams at Alabama Birmingham were successful, and he was a very efficient point guard for them. His overall stats there: 100 games, 7.8 ppg, 4.6 apg, 41% fg, 37% 3pt are solid . Obviously that's a pretty good barometer[100 games] playing at a pretty similar level of competition. I know he was playing better than that now, and players can have big seasons especially as veterans who've been thru the wars, but they can also have hot streaks and then level out to what has been more their norm. Hopefully, we'll get to see Nick play some more and see where this ends up.

The offense Drake was running was perfect for Norton. I don't know what they ran at UAB. I don't know what Drake will run now.
