Not all that long ago a coach accepted a job at Drake and become National Coach of the Year.
Anonymous sources should tell you all you need to know about the sampling. My guess it was a concession worker in Normal.
Those 5 D-2, or college division championships came against every school in this conference not named Bradley, Drake and Loyola. That tradition is why our fanbase weathered the 20 years of sucktitude.
Facilities...second to none. Period.
We had one of the highest basketball budgets with the old regime. I am sure that clearly hasn't decreased in the last 10 months, so resources is a joke.
Talent is on the old regime, although even with that, we still attracted several first-teamers. A player like Sam Cunliffe isn't going to go to a lot of Valley schools, so that already seems outdated.
The worst job in the Valley isn't going to attract a Celtics assistant, along with two assistants as deep as Lickliter and Graves.
If this was out last year, I probably wouldn't argue much except for tradition and facilities. The last 20 years have been more than disappointing, probably no more so than the 2015-16 team. What a waste. A crappy image is well deserved in some of these areas. The weak president is gone, the weak AD/Banker is gone, and the stubborn, mediocre coach is gone. The changes have been made to put us near the top in every category, it just has to be proven they were the correct ones.
