And if you averaged out our away attendance, I'm sure that would be the highest as well (Indiana State and Valpo both sold out their home games vs Loyola, Bradley and ISU has probably their biggest crowds of the year.)
This is not the year to bash Loyola in an attendance discussion.
Loyola has a ways to go before they will draw more than a Bradley vs. ISUr game in Peoria. Same can probably be said for BloNo.
The Loyola game ranks #5 in attendance in Peoria this year, with ISUr (7,122), SIU (5,968), Indiana State (5,805), and New Mexico (5,494) better attended than Loyola (5,490).

When you are selling out Gentile on a regular basis, you get to use the small arena excuse for being 7th in the league in attendance. Until then, spare us.

goramblers2011 wrote:When Loyola joined the league, it was "They are a terrible basketball program and diminish the prestige of the conference. They have no chance of success in this league."
Then PM built the program up and cruised to an MVC title and a Final Four run.
It was also, "They are not relevant nationally. No one cares about them."
Loyola's MBB account now has 4x as many followers as any other MVC program on Twitter. Because of the Final Four run, Loyola had more publicity than any other MVC program not named Wichita or Creighton in over a decade.
Not to mention, "Yeah, but they play in front of an empty arena everyday and have no fans."
Now the gym is averaging a near sellout every game and will have six sellouts this year. Students line up for hours to get in. Apologies we didnt sell out games like Benedictine and Norfolk State and UNI at 6pm on a Wednesday on -50 weather.
Now it is "Yeah but they dont sell out every single game and being 10k fans to St. Louis. Pathetic!"
I bet if we sold out every single game, this board would be bashing the size of the gym even more and saying we need to build a brand new 10k capacity arena.
