Maybe Ticket Prices need to be looked at. Tickets for just Sunday START at $50.....that's at least twice as expensive as they should be.

The ticket prices are a thing for sure, but I paid way more for my hotel and restaurant food last year than the actual tickets.

Anyway, the Enterprise Center is probably far too large of a venue for the conference today. Based on attendance averages, if 40% of each team's fan base traveled to St. Louis, the Enterprise Center would still not be full. This isn't a league with three teams selling 10,000+ tickets a night any longer.

This is a league which is led in attendance by a team who started the conference season 0-5, followed by a team which has lost 7 of its last 8. Meanwhile, the teams who are on top of the standings rank 7th, 9th and 3rd in attendance. Is there something wrong with this picture?

And if you averaged out our away attendance, I'm sure that would be the highest as well (Indiana State and Valpo both sold out their home games vs Loyola, Bradley and ISU has probably their biggest crowds of the year.)

This is not the year to bash Loyola in an attendance discussion.

Loyola has a ways to go before they will draw more than a Bradley vs. ISUr game in Peoria. Same can probably be said for BloNo.

The Loyola game ranks #5 in attendance in Peoria this year, with ISUr (7,122), SIU (5,968), Indiana State (5,805), and New Mexico (5,494) better attended than Loyola (5,490).

So it is behind one rivalry game and barely behind three Saturday games? I still think if you average out away attendance for every MVC team, Loyola would be the highest (and that makes sense).

Just kinda comical that Loyola is getting any criticism in this thread when it is averaging 80% capacity while other schools are struggling to fill up half their stadiums. Oh well.

When you are selling out Gentile on a regular basis, you get to use the small arena excuse for being 7th in the league in attendance. Until then, spare us.

The field goal posts would just keep moving. Selling out six games and averaging about 80% capacity is pretty damn good.

Illinois State would be more than 80% capacity if the only had 5,100 seats. Lame

Agreed, you just went to the Final freaking 4. Every single game should have been standing room only and lines to get the few tickets available. I actually find the attendance numbers this year pathetic, especially given the market size of Chicago!

The Bears attendance is just plain awful but we would be at capacity in Gentile. To say you are at 80% while we are half full is stupid. If we played in the Superdome and had 20,000 a game would our attendance be worse than it is in JQH because the percentage dropped?

When Loyola joined the league, it was "They are a terrible basketball program and diminish the prestige of the conference. They have no chance of success in this league."

Then PM built the program up and cruised to an MVC title and a Final Four run.

It was also, "They are not relevant nationally. No one cares about them."

Loyola's MBB account now has 4x as many followers as any other MVC program on Twitter. Because of the Final Four run, Loyola had more publicity than any other MVC program not named Wichita or Creighton in over a decade.

Not to mention, "Yeah, but they play in front of an empty arena everyday and have no fans."

Now the gym is averaging a near sellout every game and will have six sellouts this year. Students line up for hours to get in. Apologies we didnt sell out games like Benedictine and Norfolk State and UNI at 6pm on a Wednesday on -50 weather.

Now it is "Yeah but they dont sell out every single game and being 10k fans to St. Louis. Pathetic!"

I bet if we sold out every single game, this board would be bashing the size of the gym even more and saying we need to build a brand new 10k capacity arena.

This is so whiny... Sorry about the truth. What was pathetic is a 1 seed that could not fill up an entire section at arch madness... That is not good for the conference, I'm sorry it just isnt. While Gentile may have a few sell outs if you took the crowds at Bradley, ISU, Missouri State, Evansville, SIU to gentile we would be at capacity every night. Sell the place out every night and maybe you have a point... Don't whine about the truth though.
