Can everybody take a look through their junk drawers and see if we have the receipt? Maybe we can get a store credit or something from the Horizon League...

After an 0-18 season in the SEC, maybe Bryce Drew will be available to come back...

UNI finished 6-12/8-10 its first 2 years. Loyola finished 4-14/8-10 its first 2 years. If we seeked a store credit in either case, we would’ve missed quite the payoff.

They're quickly heading back to the early AMCU days here where they lost to shitty UNI teams 20 out of 21 times.

My first instinct was to crack back at this comment in light of Jacobson's newfound reputation for blowing big leads in big games but I can't. Everything everyone said about us is right. Our school isn't committed our coach sucks worse than our facilities and that's saying something and our coach is the master of blowing leads and probably wouldn't even build a lead to blow in a big game. I'm so sad and beaten down. I envisioned an adjustment period but I never thought we'd be this bad. I feel sorry that our private school status got us in over a better and more deserving program in Murray State. I am sorry that we have the worst coach and facilities in the conference. I am sorry that we have disgraced and embarrassed the MVC a conference I have loved since long before Valpo joined it. I can only hope we'll be better and more committed someday but I am not optimistic. On behalf of Valpo fans everywhere I am sorry to the MVC its institutions and its fans. There's no defense for how awful we've been and are right now.

It's not Valpo fans, you guys are great. You just don't have an administration that shares your passion.

And in year 3, UNI played in the finals in St Louis and lost a 3 point game. How's Valpo going to do in Year 3?

Agree with BCP, assuming Lottich doesn’t work out we have an AD who has not hired a single winning coach in basketball or football in his time here, and a president who talks a big game for athletics but won’t commit a single dollar to improving our awful arena.

*While our AD technically hired Bryce it’s not like he had a choice.

How can we disagree with any shots anyone wants to take at us? How can we defend? It's all true. It's all glaringly painfully true.

It appears to me that you just have a coaching problem. Valpo should have been a lot better than they were the last two seasons. On paper Valpo was a solid addition to the conference. The roster had higher rated recruits than any team in the Valley. Bad coaching.

But there has to be accountability.

As we saw with the Bradley situation this past week, eventually the issue reached the desk of an adult who took a decisive action to attempt to fix the issue. Our AD is fond of letting contracts run out but doesn’t fire for performance. While he deserves credit for bringing us to this league the bottom line is he’s a Mid-Con AD who hired a Horizon League basketball coach.

Time to clean house and put MVC caliber people into place.
