Just one quick note; Gaige Prim has been able to play limited minutes[ about 20 a nite] for 3 games now. No official word , but we've heard he has pretty significant problem with shin splints. Not sure how that looks going forward and if he will be limited minutes all year. But anyway, it's pretty clear he's a dominant inside scorer when on the court. Playing against Xavier, Miami of Fla, and St. Josephs he's scored 45 points in 60 minutes of play [ 15 ppg, shooting 55%] . He's really interesting to watch, for the most part a below the rim type, just a beast physically with a very skilled old-time post game. He shoots actual hook shots, has nice footwork, and attacks the goal. He's not rebounding at a high level yet, but commands so much attention it frees others up[ DaSilva had 17 rbs against Miami] . He's similar to Krutwig [ not quite the passer] and completely changes the Bears look on offense when he's in. If he can stay healthy to play minutes nightly, the offense will go thru him for the next two years. The Bears will look pretty different by conference season if he's able to maintain.
The Bear is the largest carnivore on the North American continent; beware the Bear!

NOY to me so far:

1. Williams
2. Prim

Both have been really impressive.

People might want to hold off on their DeAndre Williams NOY votes.

I think the first tier right now is Prim, Tate Hall, Roman Penn and DeAndre Williams. This very early race to me right now is between these four.

Last night against NC Central Marcus Domask had 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Shot 60% from the field, including 60% from 3. He has a lot of intangibles that don't show up in stats, his dad is a coach, and it shows.

Is on scholarship in football as a WR after turning down Iowa because they wanted him to play TE (not the choice I would have made). He's going to try to play both after taking a redshirt this year. Not sure how long basketball will stick. His sister is on UNI's Women's team.

Both tall and blonde, but not siblings, not even related to my knowledge. Logan has two younger brothers, including a junior at Cedar Falls. He was an easy D-II scholarship caliber basketball prospect with mid-major potential. His football prospects were FBS level but he wanted to try and play both.

Welp. There you go. The ol' saying about assumptions rears its ugly head yet again. Wild. Not the most common last name either....

I watched most of the SIU-SLU game last night. Domask and Lance Jones are going to be good ones for the Salukis. I didn't realize Domask was Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin. Good gets for the dogs. The Birds were in on Jones as well but when little brother Mullins went to SIU that pursuit from ISU's side fell off.
