SIU is getting blown out at halftime by Alcorn State. Sorry, this league sucks right now.

SIU/Alcorn State in the running for most hilarious game of the season. SIU did not deserve to win that game but just got enough from Jones/Domask.

Money unfortunately has a lot to do with it, especially right now trying to make up last season's losses. A half full arena where only 1/4th of the season ticket holders show up makes money while traveling to a mid-major costs money for no gain.

I understand it for last year and again this year, but I don't understand the constant insistence and stubbornness in previous year. Muller at Illinois State comes to mind as always complaining about it. Moser complained about having to take a buy game to get to play Maryland the year after the Final Four run.
Take the buy games against QUALITY opponents and schedule H/H's with good mid-majors.
As good as Vermont is most years, I would have liked to see UNI go to their place next year instead of cutting them a check with no return game.
Last part of the rant... More than a few teams are playing multiple non-D1 teams as regular season games. I know they aren't in the MVC, but I think Murray State is playing 3 in the regular season. That is boardering on unacceptable for any league to have multiple teams doing that, let alone a league that wants to be a top 10 league in college basketball.

A poorly coached team as you put it on Saluki Insider, came back from 17 to win. After losing to Creighton on a last second shot, travel home, spend a holiday away from home, this type of game was expected. Stop complaining about the loss to ARLR, the past, and this team in general. Some people have short term memory loss, and forget about the joke SIU had for 7 years prior. Beat a Power 5 team in year 3 of Mullins regime. Hinson couldn't do it in 7.
Go Dawgs, beat Evansville

Yeah, Mullins can’t coach like Betty Crocker can’t cook. And gosh, I think it was about week ago that Mullins and The Dawgs beat Colorado. Or did I dream that?

BTW: your bipolar description of that particular site is spot on. I'm sure Mullins reads it, and takes notes daily.

They came back from 17 against one of the 30 worst teams in CBB on KenPom. And they already have a loss to #298 Little Rock on the season blowing a huge lead.

Hopefully the Alcorn State game / debacle serves as a wakeup call to SIU to start games better; had that been any Valley opponent it would have been a complete blowout loss. Southern has the pieces and the talent to compete for the top 3 this year, but so far the mental toughness and consistency factors have been missing.

Good slate of games today; hoping UNI can knock off Bonny on the road to get the Valley's first ranked win.
