Shows that while we have very passionate and for the most part well informed posters on MVCFANS, the reality is everything on here is just conjecture and opinion. All the unnecessary angst and gnashing of teeth, the number of insults thrown at the university presidents and MVC administration was just well....... normal for a fan forum. Welcome Murray State. I hope we add UIC and stop; neither helps Missouri State that much, but Murray St for sure helps the Valley and hopefully UIC would appease the privates.

Have to get in one little dig; someone suggested a month or so ago that Cliff Smart should have stepped down as chair of the expansion committee because there was [ again that silly board banter] rumor MSU was looking at FBS football and a possible move to make that happen. Not giving him all the credit, but all everyone on here talked about for the last couple years was getting Murray St and Belmont added to the MVC, and in just a few months in working with the new commissioner, President Smart and his committee delivered.

Good, solid addition for the MVC. Strong basketball tradition, coming from the basketball state of Kentucky. Makes sense.
Now who will be the 12th school added?

I remember many years ago Bradley and Murray State met in the NIT with BU at home in a match-up between one of the country's best offensive teams (Murray) and one of Jim Molinari's at-that-time incredible defensive squads. BU won 63-58 in a thrilling game, and ever since I have followed Murray State with interest. What a great program and great add. I'm glad they accepted (or soon will).

Great add--took long enough. Belmont/Murray State were really the two best additions from a basketball perspective. I wish Loyola got a chance to play with these two teams, could have been fun trips. Now it'll be interesting to see if the MVC adds a 12th with more of a "potential" / "market" mindset (UIC, UTA, UKMC).

I'm not going to lie, I already have FOMO now that these two additions have been added. The valley would be so deep if Loyola had also stayed, and next year is going to be entertaining to watch. I still think the A10 was a good choice, but I love the valley and I'll miss it. I'm glad they landed the two best available/interested schools, I hope they also add UIC.
