Undergrad school was Southern Indiana (ISUE back in the day) Then it was Kentucky Wesleyan now I guess its UIndy

Grad School is UMKC - no real rival but had a nice run with ORU several years ago

Grew up in Kentucky so Louisville and Duke

For Indiana State I'd guess most fans would say cross state rival Ball State is our biggest rival

I miss ISU vs Wichita. Mainly, because we beat them several times and it drove GGG Marshall nuts.

SIU vs Creighton was by far the biggest rivalry back in the day. The arena would sell out. The air was electric. Kyle Korver had to leave the pregame shoot around because the Dawg Pound was chanting Korver Swallows at the top of their lungs. A local bar owner started printing “I H8 CR8ton”shirts. The games were epic battles with SIU going undefeated for 3 (as I recall) seasons in front of 18,000 fans in Omaha. Then we hired Hinson.

That is a period of time that I don't remember all that well actually. I always viewed the end of the Lowery era as the real problem for SIU basketball. Is that fairly accurate?
Also, who were the other real candidates for the job when Hinson was hired? I know it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but it seemed like a hire that had some logic behind it.

Yeah, crashing the program was more of a Chris Lowry thing. Hiring Hinson sortof kicked off a civil war (at least on the message board) between supporters and detractors. Let's not reignite it here. ;)

Yeah. The highly successful Chris Lowry years had nothing to do with it.

Barry has his flaws but he was handed a dumpster that was fully engulfed in flames racing down a river of s***.

I remember those games. I wish they had a decibel meter because those games were some of the loudest events I've been to. Also, l can't imagine college students nowadays, shouting things the dawg pound shouted back then. lol

It took me an extra two years to propose to my wife since she was an ISU grad.

I'm sure marrying up was intimidating.
