Is The Missouri Valley A 2-Bid League?

Bradley started out well, including wins vs UAB and # 18 Utah State. They obviously struggled when Hickman went down. They are playing great basketball now and will be a contender at Arch Madness in March, providing everyone stays healthy. Drake, Indiana St. and BU would all win games in the NCAA tourney.

Indiana State has the best resume to get into the tourney on their own. We need them to win the league title, and then lose at Arch Madness to get 2 teams in. Most times that we got 2 teams in during the run from 1999 to 2007, we had 1 strong champion, and then someone else won the Valley tournament, and I don't see this year as much different. Hopefully that other team that wins the tourney is Bradley or Drake as those are the best options to win games in the NCAA's.

If Drake or Bradley beats ISUb on Saturday or Sunday in St Louis, trees will still go dancing.

If ISUb wins out in St. Louis, it’s a one bid valley. Neither BU or DU are getting in with those quad numbers.

Bracket Matrix has Indiana St in as the Valley AQ, but they'd be playing in Dayton if they stayed in that spot as an at large team. Drake isn't in any of the brackets.

The Valley has never lost a First Four game. And Belmont appeared once from the OVC and won.

Wichita lost to Drake in 2021. So only current and new members remain unblemished.

The best thing that can happen at this point is Indiana State win every game until Arch Madness. Not sure if that’s realistic or not, but I think Drake and Bradley are dead. Since SIU makes me want to stop watching basketball altogether lately, I’ll be routing hard for Indiana State to pull off what is needed for an at large.
