MVC Games Week 12 2024-25

I think it's a 3 horse race between Wardle, McCollum, and Ehsan. No offense to Alexander and Belmont, but they were picked to finish 6th, and are in a 3 way tie for 3rd, so basically about where they were picked.

Wardle has to be there, because even though they were picked to finish 1st, there's something to be said about meeting those expectations.

McCollom has a strong case as well, being picked 5th, and being in 2nd by themselves with the non-conference they had. They have been a nice surprise for sure.

Ehsan has to be in the conversation as well, as they were picked to finish in last, and they are currently tied for 3rd. He's done a fabulous job there.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either of these 3 right now.

Agree with a lot of this. I'd say UIC will have to finish top-3 for Ehsan to have a puncher's chance; otherwise whichever of Bradley/Drake wins the league should get it. If it's a tie, I'd vote McCollum based on Drake's roster rebuild.

UNI wins comfortably at Indiana State 74-56.

Unfortunately, Leon Bond tore his ACL in the first half and will miss the rest of the year. UNI is now down two starters for the year.

ISU had a great game plan against Bradley in Peoria but the Braves held on and won 61-57. To beat Bradley you have to play slower and really get physical with them. ISU did that. Zek Montgomery got hot in the second half and Almar Atlason made a big three. Ahmet Jonovic did a fantastic job on Walker.

Walker and Kinziger are really good players - they need one more like them to take the next step.

Nice win for SIU on the road at UIC. One of the more entertaining games of the year, not sure either team led by more than 7 all game

ISU got lucky that the best 3pt shooting team made only 4. We will get blown out in Normal next month

I thought Evansville had the players with the ugliest shots, but Cooper Schwieger is right there with them. I didn't notice it last year.

Aces without one of their best players, who is done for the season, have their best shooting night of the year. turn it over 21X, and still get the win on the road at Valpo.

Size matters, I reckon.
