It's because the league isn't very strong. I hate saying it, but it's true.

We may be in familiar territory in NET and whatever metrics you want to look at, but make no mistake - we're a farm league at this point. We're the college basketball equivalent of AAA baseball, if you will.

Sure. As long as you ignore all objective data and go with your feelings, you're right on.

The part that is insane is Bradley shot the ball really well. 14 of 29 from 3 and 29 of 55 overall should win you a home game. But they turn it over at such a high clip that the hole they dig is impossible to shoot out of.

Amazing how a bunch of teams with brand new coaches and new rosters can figure out how to protect the ball but a team full of experienced guys that have been playing together for multiple seasons all of the sudden stop playing smart basketball. They seem mentally checked out.

You think the MVC is strong this year after losing just about all of the all conference players from last year? I've watched many games and the league looks much much weaker than prior years. If the P6 teams are going to raid the league of its best players every year, isn't it naturally going to be weaker as a result?

It's not about my feelings. There was a huge talent drain after last season. Only one player from the three all-conference teams who could have stayed at their school actually stayed - Duke Deen. Objectively, that made the league worse. I don't know how anyone could argue any differently.

FIRST TEAM
Robbie Avila, Indiana State (Transfer)
Darnell Brodie, Drake (Graduated)
Duke Deen, Bradley (Stayed)
Tucker DeVries, Drake (Transfer)
Xavier Johnson, SIU (Graduated)
Malevy Leons, Bradley (Graduated)

SECOND TEAM
Ryan Conwell, Indiana St. (Transfer)
Ja'Kobi Gillespie, Belmont (Transfer)
Jayson Kent, Indiana St. (Transfer)
Isaiah Swope, Indiana St. (Transfer)
Cade Tyson, Belmont (Transfer)

THIRD TEAM
Malik Dia, Belmont (Transfer)
Connor Hickman, Bradley (Transfer)
Nate Heise, UNI (Transfer)
Julian Larry, Indiana St. (Transfer)
Alston Mason, Missouri St. (Transfer)

You can throw in a couple of all-freshman team players too: Chuck Bailey and Kevin Overton.

There are lies, damn lies and statistics.

One of The Valley’s biggest problems in national perception is Valley fans. Even when the MVC is top-10 in NET, which is higher than quite a few of the seasons with Loyola or even with Wichita, Valley fans diminish their own league and advance the agendas of other leagues.

Does the portal only work one way? We also benefit from it.

Bennett Stirtz
Dez White
Mitch Mascari
Johnathan Pierre
Ali Dibba
Isaiah Walker
Samage Teel
Jacob Hutson
Tyem Freeman
Daniel Abreu
Carter Whitt

All transfers that are currently in Torvik's Top 20 players in the league that transferred in and the average of those top 20 is BETTER than it was last year.

We may not like the revolving door but to say the league is worse when objective data says otherwise just doesn't work. The league is in a strong place.

You must be joking. So the players who are now starring at Texas, Illinois, Maryland, West Virginia and St. Louis, are not as good as the ones who transferred to the MVC? LOL.

When you bring dudes back as 5th year or seniors and hand them the keys - you are kind of at their mercy at this stage. Not to take the head off the coaching staff but that's where Bradley is at.

Duke Deen, Zek Montgomery and Darius Hannah have been god awful during this three game losing streak. What are you gonna do? Bench them? They don't guard anyone and don't battle through anything. Duke has been pretty sick - but still.

Again, Wardle and staff could be better but the BU NIL group paid these guys to be lead dogs - not playing out the string. Tough spot to be in.

I don't know. The Big Ten games I watch look bad too.

You will never take the chip on the shoulder, poor MVC out of many fans no matter how much logic you use.

Jesus - Bradley KEPT most of their dudes and fans are pissed as hell at those dudes for sucking.
