Year 4 was pivotal. Had we not had the run at the end of that year, a change would have probably been made either at the end of year 4 or after year 5. The extension at this point almost seems like a bigger crime than the hiring. Not necessarily in granting an extension (it was needed for recruiting and probably deserved on a smaller level), but the length (believed to be between 6-7 years) and dollar amount (believed to be between 400-700K) is kind of ridiculous for someone who up until that point had 6 good weeks out of 4 whole seasons.

The myths propagated by some on player defection, recruit defection, donor defection, and inability to attract quality candidates are comical yet insulting. One minute BU is the greatest place ever with everything anyone could ask for in a basketball program and basketball community, and the next minute there's no way anyone would ever lower themselves to come here other than the benevolent Jim Les. It's insulting to me as an alum and lifelong BU supporter.

I can't and won't root for losses. But if historically bad failure will be what it takes to force change, so be it.

Speaking of Sam and Taylor possibly not returning, what about Egolf and Thompson? If both of them are on schedule to graduate, I could see them very easily deciding that another year of this may not be worth their time or effort. Will already told the coach earlier this year that he didn't care, and they've been trying to run off Thompson for years.

So again, I ask the question - If we're not going to be in full rebuilding mode next year, coming off a last place finish with six players potentially graduating or not returning, when will we be rebuilding?

Oh baby...history is being made by Jim Les and the Bradley Braves. This is what was envisioned by the people that made this happen in 2002. He just needs time...

When I first found ValleyTalk, BU fans were calling for Les's head.

Then...

As I recall, Les convinced an assistant coach (Boescher??) out of retirement and got a S16. Major in-game coaching problems disappeared. The offense worked better. Everything clicked.

Then Boescher retired again and his son took over as Asst. at BU. The problems Les had came back and this year injuries dealt the last straw to BU's season.

I think I've recalled the coaching changes and names either correctly or close. That was about the same time as Tad Boyle left Turgeon's coaching staff at WSU, WSU tanked halfway through the season, and WSU's recruiting resembled a high-pressure flush in a first-floor bathroom.

I've had a different level of consideration for assistant coaches since 2007. I wonder if part of WSU's apparent under-achievement this year might be blamed on losing their Asst. Head Coach to Clemson over the off-season.

I heard a bunch of people talking about buyout offers last night at the game. I don't know if it is people hoping that it gets done or real information.

After today, BU is now in the midst of their 2nd longest losing streak in school history and the worst start of league play in school history.

Their 41 points today was their lowest output since the '91-'92 season.

Not surprising when you milk the shot clock to under five every possession
