ISU-B wasn't anything but a middle of the pack in a mediocre MVC.

Here are the facts:

ISU-B went from

16-15 team overall, 5th place MVC team, 9-9 conference record in 2010 to
16-13 team overall, 3rd place MVC team, 12-6 conference record in 2010 (RPI 106)

MSU went from
24-12, 7th place MVC team, 8-10 conference record and 77th RPI to
23-7, 1st Place MVC team, 15-3 conference record, 42 RPI

How cares whether ISU-B didn't finish in the bottom half of the MVC, the bottomline is you don't award Coach of Year Award to a coach that kept his team in the middle of Mediocrity. You award it to coach who elevated his team to at least some level of Success.

No doubt - hands down Martin is the MVC Coach of the Year. 2nd Place would have to be Marshall has taken 9th place team and has improved them each year to 5th, 2nd and 2nd.

I have no doubt that Martin will win COY. But I really think that Lansing should at least get second. The fact that he was thrown into the situation that he was so late in the year and he pulled off the season that he has, to me, that deserves at least a second place vote.

Just my opinion.

I'm already starting to think about who will be the stars of next year's MVC hoops season.

All-MVC level returnees:

Maniscalco
Odum
McDermott
Young
Rice
Murry
Koch
Weems

I gotta be honest...there are times when I dont know what to think of Odum...there are plays he makes that are absolutely crazy mind-blowing and then he makes a bone headed pass like he almost did at the end of the game yesterday that almost cost us a posession...I hope he starts to eliminate those plays...

He's a freshman, those things happen to freshmen, McDermott is a turnover machine but it's easier to forgive if him since it's his first year.

Colt certainly needs to be included. That was just a list I came up with in 10 seconds and is hardly all-inclusive.
