In fact, because your fans are so obnoxious while there, you automatically have 9 fan bases cheering for whoever is playing against WSU.

That said, I didn't have any bad experiences today, but we left at halftime of the WSU v ISU game.

I do. I watched both ISU(B) games in their entirety on television. The atmosphere during the UE-ISU game was possibly worse than when UE-ISU played at Roberts on January 1 and everyone thought both of these teams were destined for Thursday.

At least for the ISU-WSU game, there was somebody cheering.

What they do away from the court is what I don't care about, not being in StL.

I met a great Shocker fan in the lobby this morning. He has been attending the MVC Conference Tournament for the last 15 years. He thought that this would be the year and was disappointed. Nice guy, like the vast majority of the fan base, I am sure.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

I actually sat next to some great Shocker fans on Saturday for their ISU game. Very respectful and very knowledgeable. I assume this is the majority of the fans. I noticed quite a few obnoxious Creighton fans though. And they weren't all really drunk college students either. I assume the students will be rowdy, but when it is a 60 year old man I take a little bit of offense. Overall, I am sure the majority of Jays fans are quite respectful and good fans. I didn't see too many Bears fans that were too bad. In fact a lot of them were saying "bummer tough loss."

Overall, I think the fans were pretty good. I even ran into a couple of SIU fans at the casino, and I said man I dislike SIU but I respect them. Overall, I think we have a pretty good rivalry with them because there is that mutual respect between the fans and teams.

I was really surprised to see that when Creighton was up on MSU the fans seemed to still be mocking the Panther fans by doing the interlude. I suppose I shouldn't take offense to them doing it as imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Heck maybe they weren't making fun of us at all they just think it looks enjoyable. It would be a little crazy to see it spread to other college arenas like it does at the McLeod.

I had a great weekend and look forward to watching ISU vs MSU today!

Just wanted to comment on the class of Shocker fans. As I was leaving the CU-MSU game bunch of Shocker fans lined up in the halls were taunting, jeering, pointing at me as I was carrying my 2 year old son in my arms. What a bunch of typical, classless display of sportsmanship. Would not have bothered me as much if I didnt have my son in my arms. Way to represent yourselves Shocker fan.

Tough, you ought to hear the sCUm fans at the Creighton sports complex yelling at the fans and players.

Talk about a bunch of classless drunks.

No one has the high road in the race buddy.

Anyone who was offended by that is just plain soft.

I know that actually attending the MVC tournament is kind of a new thing to UNI fans, and its been a while for MSU fans, but that was nothing compared to the past. Back when SIU and Creighton were competing for MVC tourney titles regularly, there was much more heat. If a student section or fanbase chanted something, the opposing side immediately responded with something creative and spontaneous of their own. It created an amazing environment and led to sell out crowds. The chants were much more intense and aggressive than mocking a bunch of white people flailing their arms. I remember "I H8 C8ton" tshirts and chants, "DUI" chants, etc. In 2007 after having the SIU students serenaded us with insults for a large part of the first half, the CU fanbase spontaneously broke into a "Why so Quiet?" chant when the SIU students went dead silent after falling behind. Did the SIU students pout about being harassed a bit? Nope, large portions of them were smiling and laughing.

UNI fans probably find their little dance thing cute. When you do it at home, nobody is ever going to do anything. When you do it on a neutral floor in a very intense lose and go home environment, it is going to come across as a sort of taunting. As a result, it will get some sort of a response. The fact that Creighton fans put together such a spontaneous response is a testament to their creativity. It always has historically at the tourney and it probably always will. Not that fans of schools that have just started going to the tourney have any understanding of that history....

So just doing it back is considered a creative spontaneous response?

You probably also then think you are creative when someone says "Hey you stink" and you respond "no you do!"

Seriously if it is something creative I have no problem with it. Why did Creighton fans do it when they were playing Missouri State? Seriously that is just uncreative and uninspired.

This would be a creative way to degrade another fan base. (Warning there is offensive language in this.)

I've never heard fan bases complaining about other fan bases after mixing them all together in St. Louis. This is totally new and fascinating.

Carry on.
