This team is almost assuredly one and done no matter who they match up with. I think the Trees greatly benefited from the back to back games but that won't be the case in the Big Dance. They will face a rested team on Thursday and Friday and if they get thru somehow they will face a team with a day's rest as well.
Ultimately, I just see ISU getting worked over by somebody and hurting the Valley's image when has already taken a hit. Maybe I'm wrong, I just don't see it. They did beat us twice but once was because of an awful call and the second time was because of tired legs. I just hope the other Valley teams that play in the postseason represent the league well because I have little faith in the Trees doing that at this point.
I see them getting a 13 based on the Valley's historical reputation and then getting smashed by Georgetown or something.
Without going into too great of depth or ranting (too much of that already)...
ISU had the best FG% D in the conference.
They were the 2nd best rebounding team in the conference.
They led the conference in steals.
They are a very good defensive team this year. Because of that, they stand a decent shot to at least make it a game against a 3 or 4 seed. Also, they led the conference in number of three's made per game...and as the year went on they became more selective about taking those threes.
If we get matched up against a running, high-tempo team...it could be a long day. But if we get matched up against a guard oriented, balanced to half-court style team, we stand as good a chance as anyone else.
And yes, I am saying that maybe your team or the officials didn't just have a bad day.
