The CBI costs so much more money to host than the CIT. UNI had the option of either one and chose to play in the CIT. I am sure there were other factors, and someone else from UNI might be a little more in the know about this than I am. They gave the choice to Coach Jake and after talking with the MSU guys about their experience last year they chose the CIT.

Congrats to Evansville. The more MVC we get in any sort of post-season the better. I can't imagine this won't help teams grow.

Hosting costs a lot of money and is almost a sure money loser for a school. Many teams don't want to host because they don't want the expense.

I'm not sure how much but in the past the CBI cost a home team quite a bit more than the CIT.

Thus, you end up with a number of schools not wanting to play at all (read: BcS dregs and others) and then teams interested in playing but not hosting. UE must have said we'll host.

I know CU is entertaining thoughts about both tourneys and has indicated a desire to host.

CBI : 70K

CIT: 30K

I think.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

I thought I had heard 40K to host CBI, 31.5K to host CIT. Not as far apart, but enough. Also, it sounds as though UNI might be one of the top 4 "seeds" in the CIT, meaning they would get a bye if they win their first game. Don't know if there's that much 'prestige' difference between the CBI or CIT, though it looks like the CIT has limited itself to mid-major teams while the CBI has dipped into sub-.500 BcS squads in the past.

CU will host a game on Tuesday. Lady Gaga is at Qwest on Wednesday. Sounds like it could be CBI vs Stanford or Iowa.

Didn't Indiana State participate in the CIT last season?
