I definitely think that having mid-majors in the tournament makes it MUCH more exciting. I love the "little guy" taking down the "big guy" game. Unfortunately, I don't think MSU deserves to be in this year...at least not over some of the teams that are on the bubble. They didn't do enough non-conference, and they lost some games that they shouldn't have. I really, REALLY hope that they do sneak in, but I wouldn't expect it...nor do I feel they really deserve it.

You played 1 team in the Top 50 and lost. I don't care if a team who does that has 3 losses or 10 losses. That's a joke of a schedule and you don't deserve a bid. The NCAA has/is moving away from the strict RPI ranking, what matters more is the RPI of the people you play and what RPI bracket they fall into: 1-50, 50-100, 100-200 (with a huge emphasis on the 1-50.)

The MVC as a conference needs to start getting more Top 50 teams on the schedule if we ever want another at-large bid. Doesn't matter how we do it, we just need to find a way.

Btw, a "blind resume" shouldn't have "record vs Top 200," that's just dumb and misleading.

I will agree with what some have said here. No, Marquette, Colorado, Michigan State, Alabama don't deserve to Dance. But the Bears are still towards the bottom when actually talking about teams that do deserve to Dance. VCU, Memphis, Harvard, Richmond, Cleveland State, Valpo all would still be ahead of Missouri State.

Teams have come out of nowhere before and gotten an at-large, Missouri State being one in 1999. I'm just hoping we get chosen again

In the past, I would totally agree that MSU got snubbed. This year, there is no complaining, MSU does not deserve to be in. When your biggest wins are against Valley teams and your best non-con win is Oral Roberts and you lost to OSU, Tulsa and Tennessee and then got blown out on national tv to Valpo, I don't understand how anyone can think they were in. The Valpo game was definitely a "bracketbuster" for MSU.

I've often wondered if there is any interaction with the venues/arenas at selection time. If I was hosting a first round I would want the most well traveled, hungriest, thirstiest, program and souvenir buying bubble team fan base I could get. Seems venue folks may care more about seat filling than SOS. Name recognition and regional interest in a team would be a plus also.

Wow, we don't need BCS fans to look down us, we can do it ourselves. Some of the points about MSU are legit, but I don't get how it is supposed to work. The committee has said they not paying as much attention to RPI. What they do look at and is brought here is SOS and quality wins and bad losses. Based on WHAT? The "irrelevant" RPI!! We end up with the crazy situation where MSU at #41 is a quality win that helps your resume but #76 Colorado is not, but the talking heads have Colorado in and MSU out. How does that make sense? I know MSU didn't play the toughest schedule but the RPI takes all that into account. It is not exact but the #41 team that wins their conference shouldn't get in over the #76 team who didn't? Again other than the eye test which is a joke the other stuff they look at is based on the RPI but then you ignore the RPI itself??

CBS storyline................are you kidding me. The Bears lost too many games to inferior points, that's all there is to it. So they beat Wichita State, whoopdee doo, most decent teams did. The Bears are NIT bound, plain and simple.

You still have a point. The year George Mason went on their run was one of the worst ever watched. That I do know because it has been brought up every single time when talking about getting more mid-majors into the tournament.
