Carmichael didn't extend his leg. His momentum carried him towards Cotton, his leg stayed bent and in fact moved in the direction of the sideline away from the Cotton. Regardless, it's easy to see why the ref interpreted the play the way he did. I respect the call, but I also respect Carmichael and in no way think he kicked Cotton on purpose. He's too smart to make a that dumb of a play in that situation and he's too classy and in control to make a dirty or emotional play that could hurt someone.

One more note, I also respect WSU for hitting a bunch of clutch shots at the end of that game. Don't let that get lost in all of this.

Does anybody else in other major conferences brag so much about the Get Hot in 3 Days Tournament as much as BJ fans do?

I mean I'd expect it in SWAC type leagues where that's the most important part of the season because that's the only way you're getting into the tournament.

Then again, not surprised coming from a fan that once again is looking up at WSU in the standings, sitting in 2nd place after 2 months worth of games.

I'd like to see a photo of Carmichael with his foot up like that in a rebound attempt.

Ever.

In his entire career.

Show me one. The one on the ISU message board isn't even at half that angle. Show me a picture where his leg is extended 80 degrees in front of him even once in his career other than last night, let alone "half the time."

You're Joking right?

I know I am an ISU fan, but after this, I cant imagine any team wanting to face us after this game especially WSU. To be honest, this win wouldn't have done anything for us in regards to an at-large.

I absolutely don't want WSU to face ISU again. We're likely going to the NCAA tournament, you're likely going to the CBI. I'd rather not have any of our players hurt before the NCAA tournament by your team. I'm not sure your team can play without "accidentally" hurting our players. Quite frankly, I'd rather play a good Indiana State team, or face Colt Ryan, or enjoy the rivalry of Creighton bringing their best game against us, than be worried the entire game that your team is going to cause a brawl in the middle of the court with whatever accident comes next. I'd rather face the teams that have beat us already this year, and one that should certainly be favored to beat us next week, than the team we've beaten twice this season already, because I'm not worried about dirty play from those three teams. Or of things coming from the stands.

As for whether I'm joking or not, you made a simple statement. "Jackie Carmichael rebounds like that half the time." This means that Carmichael has his leg at around 80 degrees in front of him nearly 50% of the time when he rebounds the ball. Should be pretty easy for you to find another picture where he's doing so, in that case, I would think? He has around 900 career rebounds ... that means you should have 450 rebounds in that manner to choose from. Like I asked for, show me a pic of it happening one other time.

I like the 4-1 stat. As in the one whole time Coach McDermott has actually been able to lead you to a win against WSU.

Also the rather large difference in total wins between the two programs since McDermott has become the coach.

Gonna be interesting how you guys do once McDermott Jr. is gone. We already know how Wichita State does when they lose their top guys.

When you can't win more than one game in any national tournament, you brag about the one you can win :D

Most your points are rediculous, like those elite 8s u speak of. Those were back in the day when the NCAA was the NIT of today, The NIT was for the best back then. So congratulations, u made the elite 8 of the second best tournament. But you do make one good point. Creighton has not gotten to the sweet 16 in a long time, we have not performed well in the NCAA. Our best team ever was rated 13 in the country going into the tournament and choked, lost in the first round. Yall made the sweet 16 in one of the two years youve made it in the tourney. Still, the overall success betwen the two schools is not even close as of the last 20 years. We still have more wins in the tourney then you guys even though we havent made the sweet 16. Yall are really pretty comical. Bradley and UNI also made the sweet 16, but you dont hear their fans saying they are the Best program in the Valley. They realize that just cause they made the sweet 16 ONE year doesnt make them the best. The fact is its a pretty balanced league but the most successful programs have been SIU and Creighton.

BTW I respect your fans , Wichita has great fans seriously. Ive been to Wichita a few times for games and in all honesty most the fans ive come across have been great, its just a game and i enjoy the rivalry. And being in Koch makes me miss the Civic where Creighton used to play. When creighton filled that building it seriously was at least as loud as Koch. I think the move to our new arena was the right move for the program overall, but as a fan going to a game i definitely enjoyed the civic auditorium's environment more. Your fans are great, sometimes u just need someone to put u in your place when you start making these rediculous comments about how your the elite program of the Valley. You havent done what Creighton or SIU have done, but if Marshall stays there, and if noone ever gets caught for recruiting violations (just rumors from a credible source) then i have a feeling you guys will be at or near the top for the next years to come. And i expect Creighton to be there with you and this to be a very good rivalry.

Oh btw, how come every Valley team we have played on the road has had a larger attendance for their game against Creighton than for their game against WSU. We are Everyones Superbowl, not y'all. I could go all day your not gonna win this argument.

Are you seriously trying to argue that the NIT was superior to the NCAA tournament when WSU had success there? WSU wasn't in the NCAA tournament in the 40s. The only time the NIT might have been comparable was early on ... and oh look, Creighton went to the NCAA tourney in the 40s. You're mocking one of Creighton's 10 NCAA wins in program history as being when the tournament was unimportant (although that win coming after a first round loss does a good job of mocking that win as well). WSU did not go to the NCAA tournament in that period ... they might, however, have gone to the NIT in that period, as their first appearance was in 1954.

As for Wichita State, the Elite 8 in 1964, the Final Four in 1965, and the Elite 8 in 1981 were all decades after the NCAA tournament had surpassed the NIT as the preeminent college basketball tournament. All three of those seasons were more successful than any season in Creighton history.

I don't think anyone has considered the NIT superior to the NCAA since 1945, when the OAMC Aggies won the NCAAs, then beat the NIT winner, DePaul, in a charity game. That was 19 seasons before Wichita State went to the Elite 8 of the NCAA's for the first time. At best, the NCAA had taken over by the mid 1950s.

According to you, since Creighton hasn't been to a Sweet 16 since 1974, and you apparently believe the NIT was superior at that time, Creighton has never been to a real Sweet 16. Good job.

And yes, we made the Sweet 16 in one of the two years we've made it since 2006. That year was more successful than any Creighton season since the 70s. According to you, more successful than any Creighton season ever.

Bradley and UNI also made the sweet 16, but you dont hear their fans saying they are the Best program in the Valley. They realize that just cause they made the sweet 16 ONE year doesnt make them the best.

Nope, but it does mean that they had a more successful season recently than Creighton has had in the last 40 seasons.

Creighton has consistency, and I respect that a lot. But they do not have actual high level success. Never have. Bringing up Bradley and UNI just illustrates how laughable it is that so many Valley teams have had recent seasons that were so much more successful than any Creighton season in nearly half a century.
