The bottom of this league is going to be bottom of the A10 type bad.

Added.

We're now starting to see what we expected all along from ILST. A new coach isn't keeping most of a team that went 13-20. I'm surprised it's taken this long for guys to start hitting the portal. It says to me that Pedon took a month to meet, get to know, and connect with players. He always said he wasn't going to sell a kid something they don't want to buy. I believe he'll advocate for these guys in the portal and try and help them in any way he can.

Like I mentioned yesterday, I'm excited to see what he'll do with available scholarships. By my count, there are 3 for him to fill and one may be taken this weekend by Malachi Pointdexter, a former WO at Virginia.

If only the same could be said about the top of the two conferences.

It can be. UNI, Drake and, maybe, Missouri State are every bit as good as the top of that league.

You'll remember UNI beat Bonaventure and StL on the road last year and Drake beat Richmond. I'm also guessing Loyola would have beaten Davidson but COVID.

And it won't take long for Belmont and Murray St to rebound; they both have solid coaches .

I would love to add 2! Ben Harvey's scholarship is up in the air with his health. IMO let him go elsewhere so Foster Wonders can step up.

I would be happy to let Trent Brown transfer and replace him with another 6'4-6'6 G. If we can find a more polished Big than JD Muila, bring him on too.

At this point Harvey and Brown are still there, so I wonder if that means they're staying? I would think an announcement would be made, or those players would put something on Twitter.

Mullins is working the portal hard. If 2-3 players said they want to come and they are better than what we have, he would have to have a conversation with certain players letting them know they need to transfer. I don't see him sending Brown on his way. Harvey's medical issues may allow us to replace him.. Who knows.

Trent Brown is the best defender on the team. SIU has been the least affected of any team in the MVC by defections to the portal. Brown is not going anywhere, loyalty goes both ways. And I beg to differ with you on Mulia. But you know what they say about opinions.

Would think this better be a big year for Mullins; 4th year and under .500 so far, lower half of the Valley last year . I generally say if you're not challenging at the top by that 4th year, things aren't progressing well. Not sure it's personnel that's been the problem; gotta fix his offense ,although defensively they relied on pace of play to keep scores down, so he has to decide how to do one w/o taking away from the other as much. Hope he gets it figured out, Valley always more interesting when SIU is good. Have one of the better fan bases.

Added: Sy Chatman, Illinois State. It'll be interesting to see who goes after him. Tough coming off the ACL.
