But you're right. Adding these teams doesn't make up for what they lost. Boise is really good, but Houston, SMU, Navy and Air Force don't offer a lot. AFA is solid, but not great. UCF definitely has potential but doesn't make up for the losses.

It also doesn't do much for them in basketball. UCF and Houston are alright and have potential...

I think conferences could easily start picking off some more teams if they want.

Houston is a solid football team and SMU once was, so the potential is there. I think the biggest part is having a foothold in texas for the big east more than anything. It could prove to do very well for recruiting purposes as well as tv.

I definitely get the Texas part. I didn't realize Houston was a decent program. I don't follow college football at all. But I still don't think this move does much to help them with the AQ issue. They lose Pitt, West Virginia and Syracuse and will replace them with SMU, Houston, UCF, Navy, Air Force and Boise. I think Boise is the only one that really brings much to football. AFA and Houston may be ok. Not sure what Navy is doing these days. Don't know much about UCF either. But those six do not equal the three that are leaving. And other schools may very well be poached from the BE in the near future.

Mizzou to SEC is finally official:

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Bye-bye Big 12, hello SEC.

After weeks of private flirtations and the college sports' equivalent of prenuptial negotiations with their respective lawyers, Missouri and the Southeastern Conference took their mutual attraction public Sunday

First the SEC released a statement welcoming Missouri as its newest member. Later there was a campus pep rally in Columbia, replete with a new SEC banner, the school's marching band and exploding confetti.

How can it seem like KeyWest Bear knows what he's talking about when he was the source behind the CUSA hysteria? It would seem more like he's taking a lot of liberties with the information he may have.

No, the basketball player and a random guy on twitter were responsible for the CUSA craziness.

KeyWest called a few things, most significantly being JQH about a month before it was announced and then Zo leaving the day before it was announced. He obviously has some insight. But you're right, sometimes it's best to keep that stuff off the interweb

In the C-USA topic he also called "Rumor is true, but timeline is off." You just keep picking and choosing what you want to pay attention to.

Don't worry, he doesn't have a clue. He's a wannabe with a website.

Trout you clearly have an axe to grind. For some reason I've always pictured you like that umpire Joe West who is always going out of his way to make the game about him.

On Conference USA, I think it got public a little to soon for the conferences liking. I will say this much, I will be shocked if Missou is the only major college in this state switching conferences in the next year to 18 months.

Trout has problems with one person, but feels like he has to tell all of us. We do not care.

Why would I have an ax to grind? Maybe because I can't post on Bear Nation because band boy hates it when I say somehing he doesn't like?

I just started reading this board again and you are the most delusional person on here. No wonder they all make fun of you.

Prepare to be shocked because MSU isn't going anywhere. You sound just like flute boy. Knows nothing about sports but is a rabid fanboy with a Twitter account.

+1.

Always has an open mind. Doesn't sugarcoat anything. Says what he feels even if it's against the grain. And also adds a bit of humor in a lot of his posts. I usually try to go with the same style but the new admin at Shockernet is also a little in over his head with the "quick to delete" button.

Please stop with this. Why do I get the feeling you were the twitter guy behind the CUSA hysteria?
