Right now I think Missouri State It’s just kicking the tires. Doesn’t mean they won’t go ahead and jump. The conference is loaded with cash right now because of all the exits so they may make them a pretty damn good deal they can’t turn down. I can tell you this, I feel confident that they are going to make a jump within the next three years or so somewhere. This would just be a first landing spot. You have to get in the game to move up. You’re not going to move up from the FCS level into the AAC. I could see this as a 50-50 situation right now. Flip a coin as to whether we accept or not. Guess we will know soon. I’m sure they also want to know who else is being added to make sure that it makes sense.

Basketball wouldn’t be terrible. Just not as good as the MVC. Having said that, what difference does it really make? Our league is a meat grinder and the NCAA selection committee has been brutal to us over the years. It’s not like they reward us for playing in such a tough league. Quite the opposite in most years.

Honestly it may accomplish 2 goals for them.
1. Get into FBS Football.
2. Get into the NCAA Tournament through conference championships. They aren't able to do it here, but may have a better shot there.

This is such a weird mix of an upgrade/downgrade of a conference.

From a winning games perspective, the CUSA is going to be WAY easier to win in in football than the MVFC. That's going to be an absolute garbage league.

You would have to think that anyone in CUSA from here on out is looking to move to a better situation as soon as possible. It’s like the WAC

It would be really strange to see a school choose to move down in conference realignment.

Does Missouri State see themselves as an FBS school? If they do, then they should look at CUSA. If not, it’s moot.
But, and this is pretty important as distinctions go, looking and buying aren’t the same thing. Nobody knows what’s going to happen next with the NCAA, FBS, and realignment in general. You don’t want to be left standing when the music stops.

They do. Enrollment pushing 30,000 in a metro that's growing at a rapid clip. They're growing out of being a cultural fit in the Valley.

If FBS Football is their goal, they have to go somewhere. They are really a non-factor in the Valley.

The best overall athletic department in the Valley is a non-factor?

I'm sure that Missouri State has a great bowling team but when it comes to the sports that matter the most...If you think that Mo State is the best here, you are delusional.

They have been doing it at the lower FBS level for years. See western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State

I'd throw ISU out there for possibly having the best overall athletics.

In reality, the only thing that matters is the desire to be FBS in football. Most conferences don't really care about the rest. It doesn't drive the boat. University presidents like it, but the conferences are money making entities.
