If they get an invite to the C7. or as my friend calls it the "Big Privates Conference," and they go, that will be an exciting new chapter for Creighton athletics that will provide greater national exposure. If they don't get invited or decline an invitation, they remain as one of the premiuer athletic and adademic schools in the MVC.

If Creighton leaves, the only schools left to push for it would be WSU and maybe MSU. If Creighton does not get an invite, the Valley office may realize that they don't have to cowtow to CU because CU doesn't have the options it once appeared it did.

The only bad thing I can see in it for Creighton is that if they do not get an invite to the C7 for whatever reason, they may lose some "pull" with the Missouri Valley office.

There is a third scenario whereby Creighton gets an invite to the C7 and uses it to negotiate with the Valley, but I really think they'd be stupid not to leave the Valley for the Catholic league unless they got something really sweet from the MVC.

Ha! We've got no pull now! I can't think of anything Creighton has wanted that the league did. That is part of the reason why the league shouldn't be all that surprised if we accept any offer that proffered. To be frank, the league hasn't shown that it even cares if Creighton is a member or not.

Without CU, StL becomes a slightly too far west location for the tournament, with CU's departure moving the geographic "center" of the conference in far western Illinois, between Hannibal, MO and Springfield, IL.
