I've never seen a more polarizing bubble.

The top half of it is very strong. I feel like Iowa St, St Mary's, Boise, Temple, are very very strong bubble candidates compared against other years.

But on the other end, Tennessee would be historically awful for a final team to miss the tournament.

There's just such a cliff in between #66 and #67 right now (or 67 and 68, if you have Virginia higher, which is reasonable). Actually, I'm calling it the Virginia line - everyone above them is very very solid and everyone below them is horrifyingly weak. Maybe I should move Kentucky right below instead of above.

There's tiebreakers flying out of everyone's butt, but in the SEC, it's currently lined up to go Ole Miss/Tennessee, Kentucky/Alabama, and Arkansas/Missouri in the SEC quarters. I'm going to go ahead and say that bubble mess takes care of itself via natural selection next week.

Keeping an eye on the NIT, we're already 2-for-2 in bid poaching. Mercer gets beat by FGCU and is going to the NIT, and Robert Morris just lost and will be going too. InSU and UNI feeling the squeeze.

Well, for the first time in forever, no bubble drama this year for the Valley, probably in both major tournaments. Despite my earlier post, still feel relatively OK about InSU and UNI. IlSU, Evansville, and BU will get EIEIO invites, whether they accept is up to them. Wichita and Creighton play for seeding and a champeenship tomorrow.

And the Valley will take the next week off from the college basketball media.

TAS- what does a win/loss do for seeding to WSU and CU?

Could be worth a seed line (both teams could use another quality win).

However, honestly, it's so impossible to know. Everyone around them are going to start conference tournaments and are going to move up, down, and sideways. In particular, I'm looking at Oklahoma, Colorado, Minnesota, Cincinatti, all who are probably below but could wind up above....who knows what they'll do with Memphis or Illinois...

My short answer: CU playing to get out of the 8/9 game and WSU playing to get into the 8/9 game.

I take back what I said about the NIT.

Sun Belt just took a NIT spot away.
MAAC just took a NIT spot away today.
America East just took a NIT spot away today.
Big South just took a NIT spot away today.

MTSU just lost in the Sun Belt semis so they will be an interesting one since their RPI was at #24 entering today.

Ouch, not good for UNI or ISU-b... It will be shame if both of them don't make it into the NIT field. Also I wonder what will happen with MTSU, I wouldn't be surprised to see them be left out next Sunday.
