Wait until you see SIU’s schedule. Not sure what they are doing but I say WTF . We would die for Bradley’s Belmont’s UNI’s or Drake’s schedule. Not sure we even get 11 games scheduled, last year we ended up short one game . SIU should have a good team but Mullins is apparently a little worried about job security.

I looked on the school website yesterday, and they only have 7 games listed. Disappointing that SIU isn't going out to play competition. People liked to rip Lowery, but he played teams.

SIU's situation was also vastly different a decade ago, they had a run where they were a perennial Tier 1-2 team.

Unless you are a Tier 1-2 team, in 2022, you aren't going to be getting top 150 games at the clip Valley schools have been used to getting historically, and Tier 2s aren't looking much lower than themselves, either, unless its for a home buy game, and even then, they're trying to stay under 120.

I fully agree that SIU isn’t the same program today that they were a decade ago but their scheduling has to be improved. They have had one of the poorest schedule’s in the Valley the last several seasons, and that has definitely been their choice. I really like Mullins and hope he gets us back to the top of the league but he has to find a way to at least have a respectable schedule.

SIU, Valpo, and especially UE should be playing 2 buy games a year. UE should potentially play 3-4 a year. You take one of those buy games and pay two lesser opponents to play at your place. Then you take the other cash and fund your program(s).

No excuse for SIU, with the team they have, to not play at least 3-4 solid mid-major opponents (100-175 NET), 1-2 HM opponents, an MTE, and 2-3 easy wins at home.
