With the additions of Matthew Lee (St Peters starting PG) and Alston Mason (Oklahoma transfer) it was clear that Ford recruited over both of them. Hate to see Haney go especially since he was a local favorite who played hard, but talent wise the Bears have upgraded their pieces over those who have left. Prim is nearly impossible to replace, but otherwise have to feel good. The Bears last year were a three man show--Mosley, Prim, and Clay. Mosley and Clay seem likely to return (Clay for sure, Mosley ??). I think this is Fords most talented roster yet, certainly in terms of depth, but I imagine that with at least 11 new guys chemistry early on will be a task.
Northwestern State, where former Associate HC Gipson is now the head coach, is apparently turning into Missouri State-South with the possibility of 5 former Bears ending up there. Rumor is there was perhaps somewhat of a falling out with Ford and Gipson, with Gipson being the lead recruiter for a lot of the players out there. But Ford, through his additions this offseason, has reminded people once again that he is a hell of a recruiter as well.
