Does this count as legs? Seems WSU was premature in denouncing any link to Salinas.

I guess I see a couple legs in that video.

The donations seem to be while Scott Thompson and Mark Turgeon were coaching at WSU. Both are mentioned as having lost money with Salinas.
The only player associated with Salinas to have played at WSU (at least that's known so far) is Murry, and that doesn't correspond with any of the donation from Salinas to WSU.
The contributions seem more likely to be an incentive for the coach to invest with a crook, rather than any attempt to influence recruiting. I don't believe the NCAA has any rules against influence peddling. It seems there would have to be a money trail tracked all the way to a player or recruit before there would be a problem with the NCAA.
With the number of times these situations arise, I would hope the NCAA makes a rule that athletic departments cannot accept donations from anyone associated with an AAU team and cannot funnel money (even laundered money) to any person sponsoring or coaching an AAU team.
Even better, eliminate the July evaluation period. A lot of coaches are asking for that already. Get rid of the AAU summer leagues. Let the kids be kids over the summer. That would remove a lot of corruption (and appearance of corruption) from the recruiting process.
