Surely, you can picture the other side of the fence. Surely, if the shoe was on the other foot, you too would see the reasons behind some of the animosity of that day. You did see the replays, right?

Everybody knows Marshall wears his emotions on his sleeves. A coach in that situation who didn't get mad sure wouldn't have made me feel that great if they were my coach. His reaction made it seem like he cared. Fighting all the way back for a lead, down 20 in the 2nd half, as the No.7 seed over the heavily favored No.2 seed and only to lose on a shot that had time running issues surely is a bit understandable. Don't ya think?

I get that, but look at how McD acted after getting jobbed by a blown call on a half court three pointer that was shown to have occurred after the light/horm had sounded against Iowa State - the team he coached the year before - and you'll see how a coach can show he cared about the game while maintaining composure. I bet Mac wanted that game every bit as much as Marshall wanted his - maybe more. I was happier with the way Mac acted than I would have been if he had thrown a hissy fit.

I think one could argue ending your season on a call like that is worse. The fact that we came back from some huge deficit also amplified it.

Very true!

Do we have an Illinois State or an Evansville favorite?

There is a good you tube of Josh Young's final seconds winning shot against SIU in the MVC Tournament a couple years ago.

I have 3:

1) 1997-98 (my freshman year): Michigan @ Bradley. On a rebound, from seemingly out of nowhere Eric Roberson grabs a rebound hurdling both the late Robert "Tractor" Traylor and Maceo Baston for a putback dunk. Bradley won. Several days later Michigan upset #1 Duke. While the Wolverines were not good that year, they snuck into the NCAA as the Big Ten Tournament winner.

2) 2006 NCAA Tournament, BU vs. Kansas: Will Franklin's buzzer-beating 3 that put Bradley up 10 at the end of the 1st half.

3) 2009 CIT, BU vs. Oakland: Chris Roberts' catch-and-fling 75+foot heave to stun the Grizzlies

Didn't someone from Bradley put up a succesfull cross court shot a few years ago in one of those post season games?

UE:

1999 UE beating Missouri St in the final game of the year to win the MVC Championship. Marcus Wilson hit a baseline jumper as time expired for the win.

UE beating Creighton at home. I believe Creighton was ranked in top 10 at the time. And unless I'm getting my years mixed up, we won on a Kyle Anslinger put back off of a FT miss to win the game.

Yeah that is a little too harsh, but I would say there is some truth to it. Those were some dark years that we are still trying to recover from. If you go back 15 yrs then you could include some good moments from the Crews times, the Marcus Wilson shot that was mentioned above being one. The win over Creighton in 03 was also a very good moment. Hasn't really been anything in the conference season since then. If you included Non-con games you could throw the Butler win from last year in there.
Go Aces!
