Not that it matters anymore. Moore/Ill St "snuck up" on a few folks last year. Be interesting to see how the new coach molds this team.

Is it possible that Moore can go to SMU?

Thats what I was wondering too as it sounds like we released him to only BCS schools, so it has to be a school from a big 6 conference. Since SMU isn't considered a BCS school yet, I'm not sure he can sign on with them.

To be honest, the way I see it is that ISU has not only lost out on the buyout money from Janks contract, but also the home/home that was guaranteed we would get for whatever school he goes to for a head coaching position. Since he left for an assistant position that is all null and void. As much as all of our universities put on a nice face, I don't think there is any chance in hell they are letting Jank leave with Nic Moore as well.

Rumor is that he might be looking at one of the BCS teams we beat last year, which means either Rutgers or Ole Miss. If he ends up at one of those, this has all turned into a really huge mistake on Nic's part.

I think Nic is a really nice player. But POY is a stretch. How many POY are there at that diminutive size from any conference? I'm not saying it's not possible (and I know it's been done) but it's pretty rare for a player sub 5' 10" to achieve that.

Regardless it's a significant loss for his former team and the Valley.

Rumor is there is mutual interest with Notre Dame.

Moore went to high school about an hour away from South Bend.

How would ISU stop Nic from going anywhere? Please don't tell me them wouldn't release him from his scholarship. To do that, they would have to eat a scholarship and ISU is already over the limit.

They released him, but to BCS schools. I don't think SMU is considered a BCS school yet.

They can't stop Nic from going to SMU.

If schools could do something to screw over the players that are transferring without it hurting themselves, they wouldn't be releasing players so easily. It's a two-way street. The school can threaten for awhile.

It does suck to lose a promising player.
