Agreed. I think we'll be fortunate to have 3 top 100 teams.

The interesting thing about Lindy's conference rankings is that they listed MVC as 11th for 2013 but last year, with Creighton, the MVC was rated a pre-season 12th . I didn't look closely enough to know which conference the MVC passed. I would have thought the MVC, without Creighton, would be ranked lower since Lindy's now has the MVC in the "Mid-major/minor" category of conferences which is a demotion from the recent past

Sum of the parts is better than part of the sum. Lower division schools will be better.

For the MVC, looking at the nc schedules and the exempt tourneys, there is little positive impact on the SOS (Outside of WSU and UNI) so it is going to be tough.

The Two teams Evansville swept is the only two bringing a positive impact to the non conference schedule?
I guess Indiana, Murray State, Butler, Ohio U,Xavier and Valpo are low 200 teams. I know....that why the Universities play the game

Don't get pissy. I don't have time to thoroughly evaluate everyone's schedule. I just remembered WSU and uni from the tourney thread. That said, Indiana and Xavier will help you, but i dont think you can beat them. Others, the jury is out

I personally don't care if the Valley is 9th, 10th, or 11th this year. With all the realignment, it's going to take time to figure out the conference hierarchy.

What matters more is staying in the same "draft" with the WCC, MWC, and A-10. Yes, I'm using a racing term. What really matters is being in the same tier as those three. There's 7 conferences above us who I don't think can be debated (ACC, B1G, Pac-12, Big 12, SEC, AAC (at least for one year, with Louisville) and BE, for now). So the important thing is the MVC staying in-step with the MWC, A-10, and WCC. It's ok to be 4th among those 4 as long as we're with that group and not with the group below.

We are going to need MVC teams to improve to stay in that draft. Based on the current alignment, the MWC had 5 teams that were in the NCAA tournament last year. The realigned A-10 and WCC each had 3. The re-aligned MVC had one (WSU).

To believe that the new BE is only ahead of the MVC "for now" is very optimistic thinking. My concern is that the MVC is at risk of going the way of Conference USA unless the MVC can consistently get more than one NCAA bid in 2014 and thereafter.
