Bryson was a local kid who ISU and everyone knew about. He wasn't some guy coming from 14 prep schools and who bounced around all over.

I don't think so. A lot of these guys go to academies because they think it makes them more attractive basketball recruits. But then they realize that they aren't really schools and get screwed over. It's happened to a lot of guys.

And IlSU is quickly looking like they're locking up the 10th spot. I doubt they win more than 10 games this year.

Sadly it is starting to look this way. Oh well a lot of folks in central Illinois are Cubs fans so many of us know all too well the refrain of wait till next year. :(

Unfortunately, even if you were going to be bad this year, having McIntosh play would have been much better for next year. Giving him a year to work with the team and fit into the system.

This will make you worse this year, but it's also going to hurt the turn-around next season I figured you'd get following a year of jelling together. Now you're going to be working in a lot of new guys next year, too.

What am I suppose to admit here? We took 2 borderline kids and neither qualified? Sure, risks. I agree. I'm still happy with our newcomers. We got exactly who we wanted this spring, and neither NCAA ruling came as a shock to the coaching staff. McIntosh and Hawkins are both on campus with 4 years of eligibility. I'm OK with the 'long game' strategy as long as the strategy works out. I'm optimistic, patient and young. I'm willing to give Muller 3 more years and see where he steers this ship.

I was factoring in the uncertainty with Knight. Which, admittedly, assuming he's going to miss this whole season is probably way off base. I'm still not sure he misses a game.

Will the fanbase/administration be willing to give him 3 more years if the team is under .500 each of the next two seasons?

I don't think this is a problem IF these guys are going to qualify next year. I don't know if you can assume that, though. Still, given Muller's dedication to a roster overhaul, I think taking those guys was the right decision. I think the roster overhaul itself, though, was a bad decision.

He might miss a few games but nothing more if my source is correct.

Porter Moser got 4 years, and he was horrendous.
But yes, I believe Muller will get 4 years barring scandal or complete uncompetitiveness.

Tarise Bryson comes to mind.
