29 again! Very impressive.

How did Gibson and Marty Jr do?

I don't have official stats, but Gibson had maybe 12 assists and just a few points and Jr posted 15 ponts or so. Balentine was like 10-10 from the field from all over the floor before he missed a shot. He has definitely become a scorer.

I was wrong he played 32 minutes. Marty jr. looked pretty good from what I could see. Still think it is a ridiculous statement to claim DJ isn't the focal point but that is for another day.

DJ 10-11 FG, 3-3 from 3. I noticed Mock was not in box score, what's wrong? Next up is IU. Just watched them play UCONN, they look very beatable

Mock had stomach issues today. Marty said it was not the flu though.

Gibson 0 pts, 11 assists, 1 turn over

Ballentine took 11 shots for his 29 pts.

Sawvell & Simmons 15 each, Wing had 12

Balentine was 10-11 from the field and made every fee throw. He is very efficient and smart with and without the ball. His ball handling and passing skills have improved tremendously from last year. If he wanted, he could have scored 40 points tonight. He passed up many shots to get his teammates points ànd confidence.

FYI - Coach Simmons said that Mock was sick and could not play tonight. That allowed Howard to play more and gain experience.

Really?
I was just opening the eyes of the previous poster that wanted to quote stats to make The ACES look like a one dimensional team.....again.
If he looked at what has been published, he'd see the entire EARLY SEASON story and not focusing on just DJ Ballentine.
It a sad thing that you're such a Debbie Downer, as well, concerning ACES basketball, all the while using that moniker.
You need to remove the ACE from your name.

Actually, he doesn't sound like a Debbie Downer, just cautiously optimistic. Probably a good idea too considering the competition so far has been a D2 opponent, Mercer, IUPUI, and whatever the hell you're playing tonight.

Aces may be scoring points but they're sure giving up a lot of points, against not-so-good competition.

What really stands out though is he is playing 38 minutes a game against cupcakes, are the aces that one deminsional this year.

Hate to answer a hater..agrinut .
UE joined the Ohio classic that had a team that pulled out late August.
Thus the Aces played Anderson DIII. Couldn't be help.

Who have you played. Mercer won the Sun Atlantic conference last year and is a senior laden team with plenty of experience... They play IUPUI on the road and took care of business They beat the 2 time Horizon Champion squad the other night.

Exhibition is for running sets of play and evaluate players. That is what UE did tonight.

IU on Tuesday. IU lost to UCONN last night . Let's check Evansville on Wednesday

DJ was efficient tonight, his only miss was a blocked shot. He's been playing 38 minutes a game because as of right now there isn't a great option to back him up at the 2. The two freshman guards seeing significant minutes are point guards/slashers and not the outside threat that DJ is.

The way he got his first 8 points tonight were a good sample of how he's scoring thus far. On the opening possession he got a wide open straight on 3 after either Wing or Blake passed up a good shot to get a better shot. He hit a 17 footer on an underneath out of bounds play, something that Evansville does a really good job with as they scored on multiple underneath out of bounds situations tonight. His final 3 was on a pull up after bringing the ball up the floor.

The first half tonight was pretty flat, getting beat on backdoor cuts and allowing some wide open 3's that Anderson knocked down. They came out with a lot more defensive intensity, can't remember another backdoor cut for a layup in the 2nd half and went on a large run to start the half and put the game well out of reach.

Tuesday night at Assembly Hall against Indiana will be an interesting test against the best team they've played thus far as well as the most physically gifted.

Because they have been fairly close games.

Ahhh, someone who knows basketball.

But they haven't been As freshman and sophomore this team needs to gel and gel quickly That why he is playing and Mercer and Valpo were tough em out games. He got his 29 tonight and sat.
