We have a few solid wins, but nothing eye catching enough to jump us into national attention. That's ok for now, most of us were looking to go 10-2 with this noncom slate, and that remains doable. Do that and then hit the conference season healthy and with our rotation established, and I think we like our chances to continue to advance this program. Really like our depth and Lusk right now is doing good job of rotating early and finding the right matches in most games. Our top freshman and juco are getting experience but we have not had to be overly dependent on them; with Marcus and Pick back, Gulley playing as well or better than any other wing forward, Addo and Kirk giving us interior offense and Williams and Thurman making solid contributions, we have an experienced core the newcomers only have to augment.

Shocker fans are extremely arrogant and think that just because they have massive amounts of money they can't "fall into the abyss" so to speak. These things happen in cycles and you are on top for NOW. Interesting fact last time you entered conference play ranked, you finished 17-14(8-10) and finished 6th.

1- 30 win seasons
6 - 20 wins season
11 winnings seasons, 1 - 0.500 season
2x MVC #1
5x MVC #2
1x MVC #2
Only 1 Abyss finish (i.e. >6th place)

3x NCAA (1 sweet 16, 1 final 4)
5x NIT (1 championship)

Overall record (including this year)
265-141 record (87%)

Sorry those are merely records, not sustainability as Berlinz as asserted.

Do you remember ValleyTalk, SIU fan?

When was the last time a Valley school was ranked in the Top 10, besides WSU? When was the last time a Valley school was ranked in the Top 10 twice in 7 years? WSU's "abyss" certainly didn't last as long as SIU's is trending. Things can become cyclical but $$$ can limit any abyss years to 1 or 2 and $$$ can also help sustain success longer. That's why Marshall is cozy with his millions and turning down BCS jobs left and right.

According to Nolan, Duke in #60 in R.P.I. In one of the national polls, Duke is ranked number 7.

According to Nolan, Missouri State is #63 in R.P.I. Missouri State has nary a mention in the polls.

Go figger.

No, I do not follow the calculations and under lying logic of polls. I am just repeating numbers, which do not make sense to me.

That's not what Shocker fans think at all.

We do, correctly, believe that the money we're able to spend on a coach puts us at a significant advantage over all other Valley programs, and eliminates one major hindrance to continued success.

We have to make a great hire, operating under the financial constraints we have (obviously we can't compete with most programs able to pay more than $3M). The other 9 Valley programs have to make a great hire, operating under far greater financial constraints. We're as susceptible to making a bad hire as anyone else ... but we have a LOT more options.

It's a lot tougher to make a good hire when you're Evansville paying $300k than if you're WSU paying nearly $2M. Few more people you can look at. And when you can sell recent winning, a sold out arena for every home game, and airplanes for your staff. We have constraints. You have more. Teams in the ACC have less. That's all.

I remember the Doggies' glory days.

Your posters redefined "arrogance", during the period.

There is not a single Shocker with a reasonable level of sanity, who claims that money will keep the team out of the abyss. We are all too mindful of the 90s.

You may want to re-evaluate and justify your accusation.
