I also don't give a rip if fans root against WSU. I just find it hilarious when it's done in the non-con, so basically those said fans are rooting against their own teams. These message boards must really get to a few of these people when they even want their own schools to suffer.

Last time I checked, I sure didn't see any threads or posts by WSU fans actively cheering against other Valley teams in non-con. We have seen WSU and OTHER Valley fans make their displeasure known when other Valley schools fall at the hands of SWAC schools. If you don't think that's a topic of conversation and ire, well, then it really shows where the state of your program is at.

But I'm a Bears fan 1st of course.

We appreciate you hopping on the bandwagon glm

The thing is you don't even have to cheer on WSU. You could be indifferent. But to actively root against a Valley team in non-con? I just can't fathom how many brain cells are being used in that thought process.

I have been a bandwagon fan of PRACTICALLY every Valley team that has made a little run in the NCAA. I loved the UNI victory over KU! I also called the Bradley win over the Beakers in 06. The SIU teams from 10 years ago. SMS under Spoon. I even liked the Bluejays with Korver. Now I would just love to see MSU get a team going. Geographically an MSU rivalry would make sense. I also want to see Bradley get it going and UNI to consistently win 20 games (or better). A Valley similar to that is one I could grow to love.

As of today, WSU has no rivalry. We have little to look forward to in the MVC. I'm hopeful that this is a one year speed bump and that when the realignment shakes out that the MVC finds a niche where we are battling the new big east or A-10 for the 5th, 6th, or 7th best conference every year. If that's not the case, I want to find a conference that can.

Back on topic, Wichita State now has a 3.32% chance of going undefeated now according to RPIForecast. It's slowly inching up each day and I would expect a decent boost after tonight if we're able to get past Alabama. After tonight, we're favored by double digits (Sagarin) in 16/20 of our remaining games, and favored by single digits in the other four.

This is funny. It actually kills you inside. You think fans should bow down to WSU, after all you are carrying the conference so everyone should bow down to the mighty Shockers.
Here was your quote earlier. I can tell it doesn't bother you.

What a bunch of insecure, dumb*** responses. Only a couple of insecure Valley fans would actively root against a conference foe in a non-conference game, which in turn hurts their own team because they can't stand some internet message board fans. That is pure genius.

WSU is the only reason right now that this conference is barely hanging onto a top 10 rating and not meandering around in obscurity.

Ironic that the two fans actively rooting for WSU to lose are the ones that have got torched by SWAC teams in the last year. Go figure.

I think it might be more accurate to say "to get respect from other fans, you must first have a team that doesn't perennially suck the big one."Frankly, I don't think Shocker fans give a crap if fans of other Valley teams root for the Shox, against the Shox, or just don't care. There is always plenty of room on the bandwagon, but there are plenty enough folks on board to have a grand time as it is. But don't spend all your time trying to belittle the legitimate accomplishments of a program, root against it, and then expect fans of said program to start up a chorus of kumbaya.

I rest my case.

Is losing at home to a SWAC school not "sucking the big one"? When is the last time Evansville has been relevant on the national stage or even the Valley?

How oblivious are you? The truth definitely hurts you.
