According to Google Maps (from school's arena to Scottrade Center)

Bradley- 168mi, 2hr 33min
Drake- 351mi, 5hr 26min
Evansville- 166mi, 2hr 40min
Illinois St- 165mi, 2hr 31min

Loyola- 306mi, 4hr 47min
Missouri St- 215mi, 3hr 15min
UNI- 347mi, 5hr 16min
Southern IL- 107mi, 1hr 58min
Wichita St- 440mi, 6hr 20min

Shows moving it to KC is moronic

Pretty sure the only thing this shows is the distance in miles and estimated travel time from each school to Scottrade. Everything else you just made up.

???????? You want a conference tourney around the same distance to a lot of schools and for most its around 3hrs. And Wichita draws the most fans every year so does it matter?

If the Valley cared about money it would move it to KC. If the Valley cares about fairness for the little sisters of the poor it will keep it in St. Louis or move it to Chicago.

To KC next to St Louis:

Drake- 351mi, 5hr 26min; 192 miles, 2hr 48 min
Evansville- 166mi, 2hr 40min; 412 miles, 6hr 12 min
Illinois St- 165mi, 2hr 31min; 377 miles, 5hr 38min
Indiana St- 169mi, 2hr 37min; 409 miles, 6hr 5min
Loyola- 306mi, 4hr 47min; 520 miles, 7hr 55min
Missouri St- 215mi, 3hr 15min; 167 miles, 2hr 38min

Southern IL- 107mi, 1hr 58min; 352 miles, 5hr 29min
Wichita St- 440mi, 6hr 20min; 199 miles, 2hr 48 min

Knocks off time for Drake, MSU, UNI, and WSU. Doubles time for Evansville, Illinois St, Indiana St, SIU. Total miles to St. Louis for 2269. Total miles for KC 3294

Hell yes it matters. The Shockers will bring 3-4000 to St.Louis. We'll bring 7-8000 to KC.

I would agree...half of that arena would be WSU if they are even decently good.

Without Creighton, I can see no reason to move the tournament to Kansas City. If you're going to move it there, you might as well just put it in Wichita.

$$$$$$$$
But apparently the league isn't interested in making any. Unfortunately there is a correlation between the money and successful programs and conferences. I maintain that the attendance of non-WSU members would remain largely the same if the tournament moved to Kansas City.

Also, it does not bother me to drive 6 1/2 hours to watch my team play. It does bother me when other fans act offended at the idea that they might have to do the same on occasion. Particularly when those same fanbases aren't doing their part to support the event even with the shorter drive.

It's not just the shorter drive for most of the members, it's also the fact that the league office and all its resources are in St. Louis, the event doesn't compete with the Big 12 tournament as it would in KC, there are quite a few St. Louis area fans that are regular attendees every year, and the local media is very welcoming of the event.

You could move it to Intrust in an effort to make Wichita State happy, but how long do you think it would be before the gesture was totally forgotten and WSU fans move on to another imagined injustice?

It doesn't have to do with making WSU happy, it has to do with money. Move it to KC and you double the amount of people there. Move it to Wichita and IBA would sell out.
