Nice to see the refs stay preserved.

I seriously hope you aren't complaining about officiating, given the last 5 minutes of calls that ALL went Evansville's way and the nearly DOUBLE amount of free throws you shot?

What a loser.

Several Aces fans think we got hosed by the refs in the ISU game eventhough we shot 27 more freethrows.

Stripes were generous to Mock and not toward Fred. Mock didn't dominate like some on Aces fans thought he would. We go more toward committee play but Shaq and Grady were 25 pts. And 10 rebounds and EM was 9 pts and 16 reb.

Egidijus is a very talented and skilled big guy, but like most big guys he needs to get the ball in a position where his skill set can shine. Against Missouri State UE ran the same little screen action that got him easy layups, often and 1 attempts 3-4 times and MSU did nothing to stop it.

WSU's perimeter defense has a lot to do with why Egidijus didn't put up 2bb0 last night. Often a pass had to be made out towards midcourt, throwing off the timing of the cutting and screening action and taking away a post entry feed oppertunity. As a more traditional big guy who doesn't step out anywhere from 15 feet to 3 point range very often at all, if the offense is pushed away from the basket along with good ball pressure it makes for a very difficult to nearly impossible entry pass.

The officials didn't cost the Aces the game, you can look at a lot of plays individually and go crazy but for the most part they let them play. I thought Egidijus got away with a potential 5th late on the review that was overturned, however I thought he picked up his 1st on an awful call as well where it appeared he was straight up and the WSU player jumped out from under the basket. It happens. It's the evening out everyone likes to claim or just part of the human process......players miss layups and free throws, officials sometimes miss calls.

It was a good game by two of the best, if not the two best teams in the league. I'm sure SIU, UNI, and Illinois State would believe they are just as capable of being in that two best argument but the next two months will prove that out. WSU needed to hit those big shots and the emergence of some the the UE role players is a big positive for Evansville.

Nah I just have a tremendous dislike for the refs @ Koch Arena. Baller, you start on bad calls the refs had made. I just made a comment in your support.

I think I owe an apology to Wufan . I thought that you were him and had actually picked up some civility
Sorry Wufan my mistake

I really wish I understood the 'home-cookin' people seem to think WSU gets.

WSU was whistled for 2 more fouls, and shot 11 FEWER free throws, on their home court, as the team leading and being intentionally fouled in the final minute.

I've seen home cookin. This was not it. Reading the Evansville board, seems like most UE fans get that it was a great game.

It was a good game last night. Evansville has themselves a good game, it to bad that they don't have a better nonconference resume. Hopefully Evansville can take care of business the rest of the way (except when the shox travel to their place) and put themselves in position for at large.

Agree completely. UE has fixed some of their issues (or at least it appeared that way in this game). WSU limited Mock and Balentine. Last year that meant UE scored 40 points. This year, other players stepped up and made WSU pay for some of their defensive choices.

I thought both teams were very locked in defensively. These are two veteran ball clubs with the same long-tenure coaches. Defenders knew where players were going and beat them to the spot all the time, on both sides. Pretty great game, really.

Who hires the refs? Isn't it the conference? So theoretically the same crew could work the game when its WSU @ UE? If so, home cooking makes no sense in conference play (out of conference is a very different story).
