All of Wichita cooled on him when triple cash money G couldn't lock him down on that visit. Got outrecruited and that picture standing next to the big fella was awkward AF.

He didn't like GGG.
Smart kid.

He will be an impact player in the Valley.

The Shox go 7'0", 6'11", 6'9", 6'9", 6'8", 6'8" in the front court, so there is time to bring a project along and get one or two good years out of that player. N'Diyae probably saw more available playing time at IlSU.

The real question is, if he develops and becomes a solid contributor on both ends of the court, how many years will he stay at IlSU. It seems like players 6'7" or taller with skills don't stick around IlSU very long.

Spoken like a fan reaching by trying to justify losing a recruit WSU badly wanted UNTIL they lost them to a team you call "Jailbirds or Redturds". Hurts to lose a recruit to a program who has not been to the NCAAs in 20 years like that, huh? Project or not, WSU wanted him badly enough to send a private jet to see him play....then lost him to a program WSU fans hate. The truth sucks.

Enjoy your down season with MM as your only solid returning contributor.

And, we beat mighty Wichita State half of our final 6 regular season games (3 years) . They're salty because they know we're on the verge of busting loose because we can hang with them.

Logjam continues. Illinois State gets a commitment from 6'8 215 Keith Fisher III, a RS freshman from San Jose State. This is the second San Jose State player the Birds have signed (Jaycee Hillsman who will sit 1, play 1.) Fisher started all 30 games as a RS Freshman last season, and averaged 10.6 and around 6.5 rebounds per game. He redshirted due to a torn ACL his freshman season. So since it was a medical RS, I do not believe he loses a year of eligibility with this transfer, which would make him a sit 1, play 3. If he does lose a year it would be sit 1, play 2.

He was rated the No.2 PF in California out of HS, Look to be a solid replacement for Phil Fayne.

Muller's recruiting has certainly been to "reload" and not rebuild after next season, losing Phil, Keyshawn Evans, Boogie Tinsley, and Milik. He has counter acted with three D1 transfers (Dedric Boyd from EKU, Jaycee Hillsman and Keith Fisher from SJSU) to help bridge that gap. They'll all be in the program for a year and learn what it's like. The Birds may be set for a run here in the next few years.

My best guess:
Hein and Romine will no longer be on scholarship and most likely not be with the team moving forward.

Gassman and Chastain will be Walk-ons. With 3 transfers sitting out this season and 4 graduating
Seniors they both will have the opportunity to earn a full ride for their last two years.

That gets ISUr to 13 on scholarship. There are other rumors but this seems to be the most viable outcome.

Anyone got a positional depth chart? Ha.

1-SR Evans, SO Clarance
2-JR Copeland, JR Jefferson, JR Hein
3-SR Tinsley, SO Chastain, SO Gassman
4-SR Yarbrough,FR Ndiaye SO Bruninga
5- SR Fayne, FR Idowu, JR Romine

This was tough to do because all of the guys play, or expected to play, multiple positions.

Evans and Jefferson can be 1, 2
Clarance and Copeland can be 1,2,3
Hein can go 1-5 (See at Ole Miss 2017)
Tinsley, Chastain, and Gassman can go 2,3,4 (Small ball to 4)
Yarbrough is 1-5
N'diaye is expected to be able to be 1-5 when its all done- probably coming in at 3-5.
Bruninga 3,4,5
Fayne, Idowu, Romine are 4, 5.

TR: Hillsman- (some 1), 2, 3
TR: Boyd- 1,2
TR: Fisher- 4, 5
TR: Donnelly (pwo)- Donnelly

Also, Chastain is not currently on scholarship, due to the inter-conference transfer rule, he had to walk-on this past season to avoid losing another year. So officially, the Birds are over 3 scholarships rather than 4.

The rumblings are Gassman and Romine go to walk-on status. Some Redbird fans hope and speculate Hein loses his or grad-transfers (with 2 years). We should know more next week.

Another scholarship cleared up. Matt Hein decides to pay his own way for next season to free up the scholarship for San Jose State transfer Keith Fisher.
