Interesting, you don't see Brown being able to take over? Don't get me wrong i'm really high on Childs. I feel like him and Krutwig are the Valleys two dominant big men for the next 3 years.

Not saying I don't think he's able, just that Childs is more likely. Brown does well in the assist category cuz he's unselfish, not looking to shoot first.

IMHO this is the best thread on MVCFans in quite a while. Really enjoying reading all the rundowns of the teams. What I'm getting is that the Valley is going to be very to extremely good this season. What's really exciting is it looks like all the MVC programs are starting to kick it up a notch, and the future is full of new talent and looking bright.

Gotta love the Valley and the passionate and knowledgeable fanbases...cool 8-)

Keep it rockin' MVC!!

Jawaun Newton 6-3 Fr G, El Paso, TX, 28 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2 time El Paso player of the year.
DeAndre Williams 6-9 Fr WF, Houston, TX, 24 ppg, 11 rpg at Nation Wide Academy, OKC, Scout 3 stars.

I recently heard that DeAndre Williams has to sit out this season. Can anyone verify this either way? I haven't heard it anywhere else, but I'd be surprised if the guy I heard it from was wrong.

Wait what? Darrell Brown is not even close to pass first, prototypical PG. Dude is thinking about getting his all the time. It's not a knock, just who he is as a player.

I'm saying if Darrell Brown was more Walt Lemon-selfish he'd average 20/game and be first team all MVC. But he's not and his assist numbers reflect that. Which is fine, but if he wants to make the jump to POY contender it's gonna take a change in mindset.

Walt Lemon took 1.5 more shots a game than Darrell Brown and averaged 3.9 apg to Brown's 4.3. Not a huge difference. Brown shot 35% to 43% for Lemon. I like Brown but he is extremely inefficient on offense--anything but an unselfish, run the show prototypical PG. Nothing in his history suggests as such.

Yeah, as this unfolded I realized my guy definitely wasn't supposed to tell me this in advance.

Unfortunate news for Evansville.
