Well if we're going to be like that maybe you should realize the MVC has had 12 multi bids in last 19 season. Yes, the MWC is better but not by light years.

Yet perception is the reality.

Ask anyone nationally, outside of the MVC, and they'll tell you in a split second they think the MWC is better.

Ask anyone if the OVC, SoCon, NEC, HL, etc. are good basketball leagues and the answer will, just as quickly, be no.

Come selection Sunday - blind resume's be damned because blind resume's mean nothing - would you rather a selection committee member see a win over something like Utah State, San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico, etc or a win over Wofford, Charelston Southern, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, The Citadel?

Going by names of course the MWC. By situation ir depends. I'd rather play an OVC team projected to go 27-6 over a 14-17 MWC team. Like teams would play each other. We wouldn't see a Loyola team this coming season teamed with a piss poor team. Just like in the MWC/MVC Challenge. Nevada isn't playing Evansville.

That’s not how the MWC/MVC challenge is set up.

Also Loyola got Boise last year. Boise was 22-7. Top 50 RPI.

Loyola got beat by 34

That is how its set up. They try to schedule best of the best with other factors, of course, teams won't play each other twice in a row. I guess it's just a coincidence that our two best play their two projected best......... Not to mention you can Google that's how they schedule.

Redbirds beat Wichita and got beat by 42 next time out. It happens. The fact Loyola made the final four makes your argument invalid.

Oh dear God this is an awful idea. I get that Mark Adams thinks he is the smartest guy in college hoops, but we are already getting squeezed terribly in scheduling - look at Loyola - and this would further solidify the notion that we are lesser than the Power 5 leagues.

Future Vision:
•The Alliance will transition from the two-game format in 2019 to a comprehensive MTE (Multiple Team Events/Non-Conference Tournament) strategy for multiple aligned conferences/teams in 2020.
•The Alliance’s goal is to create cost effective challenge games and MTE’s with oversight by The Alliance’s teams and participating conference leaders.

OMIGOD NO. If a school can only participate in a single MTE each year we should all be scheduling ourselves into the best possible holiday tournaments with Power Conference exposure that we can. By choosing to not play in MTEs with BCS schools these schools are making a terrible mistake.

I am definitely out if this progresses towards just being in a Mid-Major MTE.That is the one time that a P5-7 school can't duck a team, and you get them on a neutral-ish court.... But one or the stated goal of the "strategy" is to improve your seed come Selection Sunday. Mark Adams knows that at large bids outside of the P5-7 aren't coming back, he just wants teams coming from conferences like The MVC to move up from a 11 or 12 seed to the 8 or 9 seed to get a more favorable matchup. I don't know if it's going to work, and I don't know if Illinois State would have gotten an at-large bid if we had something like this a couple years ago. It probably wouldn't hurt, but even if it did work in the short term, it would just get rigged all over again. I guess trying something is better than not doing anything.

The MTE doesn't make sense. Adams is smart enough to know that an MTE format won't work unless he plans on the MVC, MWC, and A-10 not participating.

Maybe that's true and the MVC MWC and A10 will come up with their own agreements to boost everyone's schedule throughout those three conferences.
