Happens; always think people make too much out of it. Never a good look for the D-1 team, but pretty much assures the coach will get a good weeks practice out of his team heading into the opening games. Seems to me more value in a competitive game against a decent D-2 team than a dunk fest against a truly outclassed opponent. But still, you hate to lose.

Somewhat true

It's worth noting Indy lost basically their entire team from last year and their top 3 scorers at a minimum.

Also worth noting that Indy was just 11-31 on FG inside the arc. So it's not even like Indhn6had one of those night where they just couldn't miss and caught lightning

That seems like more than. Just playing a tight game and coming out on the wrong side.

UNI looked really good against a DII team that is probably going to make the DII Tournament.

I know UNI fans have hyped AJ to the moon and its INCREDIBLY early but that was about the most effortless 27 point night you can imagine. He's 6-4 with a very high release and range to 30+ feet. Routinely taking shots from the center court logo and also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rack.

He played AAU against the best in the country and was never rattled there. He's a really mature player for his age.

I'm wearing my purple glasses today but I don't see anyway that he doesn't leave here as UNIs all time leading scorer by a wide margin, 3 or 4 time all-Valley and at least one if not multiple player of the years in the league.

Once this team gets Pickford back, I think it challenges for the top 3. The talent makeover of this roster in 2 years is nothing short of amazing.

Bradley looked like a good veteran team tonight. They led 11-0 and 21-2, so game was never in doubt. Defense looked really good against an inferior opponent. They forced 3 shot clock violations in the first half alone.

Bradley needs to get healthy though, as we only have Elijah Childs and Koch Bar as true Post players right now. Childs picked up 2 fouls in the first half which he can't do in a regular game until Van Bree gets healthy. 6'6 Freshman Jashon Henry from Canada played a lot of minutes in the post. He is very well built for a freshman, but definitely undersized.

Not a lot of other analysis as players looked like I would expect from now veterans. Bradley is truly more of a team, as we had 4 players in double figures (Jashon Henry, Nate Kennel, Koch Bar, and Elijah Childs). Darryl Brown was 1-8 from the field with only 3 points, so really just a great team effort.

I'm interested to see Bradley's defense this year. The game when they beat Loyola last year was won by really strong first half defense. It didn't seem like they consistently played at that level though.

UNI could surprise. That said, if Phyfe is out long-term, how will the Panthers hold up in the post? There are some very good bigs in the league. Pickford returning to health also would be a key factor.
Looking forward to seeing Green play ...

SIU clobbered East Central (OK) on Thursday, pulling away in the second half. Armon Fletcher (concussion protocol) and Eric McGill (foot injury) didn’t play. PG Aaron Cook was three rebounds from a triple-double. Kentucky looms on Friday, and then a quick turnaround to a key home game vs. Buffalo three days later.

Yarbrough and Evans will play today against Auggie.

ILST is about to get some very good news that will impact this season.
