Agree. Do I think a change is needed? Yes! Do I ever want the Salukis to lose? Never. Ever.

The kids don't deserve that at all. I'll never root against a team with Salukis or Southern Illinois or SIU on their jersey.

I question the character of people who root against their team. Extraordinarily selfish.

Listen, I show up to every single game, pay for season tickets and donate to this University. I root for the players. What this University did last year was unbelievable and inexcusable. They deserve every bit of embarrassment they get. I hope they are very happy with themselves. I feel awful for these players who have been absolutely ruined by not just a coaching staff, but donors and administrators who stood by and not only watched it happen but enabled it. It is sickening. Yes, I hope Barry Hinson and his gang of donors and administrators who he conned into another year are utterly embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

You question the character of people who root against their team because it is selfish? the fact is if winning meant Hinson was going to stay it would be awful for the University. In fact, I would argue that just sucking it up and dealing with a rough year in hopes of actually doing something that will help the university is the opposite of selfish. It has nothing to do with me, how can it be selfish? Its for the greater good. I hope the players do well, I even hope they win, always... That does not mean I don't hope that everyone involved is utterly embarrassed because I believe they deserve it.

While I do think it's classless and petty to root against a bunch of kids who can only play the hand they've been dealt, I will give you kudos for being a season ticket holder, showing up to games and being a donor. That's a lot more than the vast majority of loudmouths on Saluki-Insider can say.

Not trying to argue or be rude. I just can't fathom rooting against my alma mater to lose any game. Ever. Everyone knows what happened last year and no one is happy about it. No use crying about it. Root for the team and what happens after the season will happen.

allow me to clarify... During the games I will root for the team. I always do. I always will. I understand that they players winning and Hinson losing cannot happen. So yes I will root for the guys, but I still want Hinson to feel it on his way out as well as all his buddies who saved him. I understand I can't have both.

I getcha. See you Sunday. ;)

I can't wait for the numbskulls on S-I to report they saw me at the Loyola game.

Something to be factored into the equation is, winning now endangers the possibilities of of success for MANY years of players to come. You want what is best for the program. I don't think Ryan Kreklow or Jared Dixon wanted Lusk gone at MSU but firing Lusk did them a HUGE favor. The Seniors at SIU chose this coach and have played his way under his training. The results are borne by both coach and players.

Would you grow up already? Geez.

Talk about the Valley/Salukis and take your vendetta elsewhere. No one here cares. Check your facts while you are at it.

You cared enough to respond, so nothing you say has much validity with me. Let me reiterate:

One person decides what is said and isn't said on S-I. Only people who agree with him are given a voice to say anything. And no one, absolutely no one, is allowed to question his motives. That includes the owner/moderators.

Obviously, you don't have the brain power to discern right from wrong. The person in control has no SIU degree, hasn't been to a game in years, lives over 400 miles from Carbondale and has never been a donor or season ticket holder. Ask him why he cares so much.

I know the facts and they've been verified. Can you prove anything I just said isn't true?
