There were more Loyola fans than Villanova at the Final 4.

If I were a Saluki, I wouldn’t be insulting the attendance of a team bankrolling my athletic department that ranks 9th in budget and providing the only sellout crowd my team plays in all year.

And grooming my next head coach. :?

Why does it have to be bashing? This whole thread is in regards to the MVC tournament, not NCAA... The number 1 seed needs to bring more fans. Did anyone attend the MVC tournament in the 2000's? If so, how can you be happy with how that place looks now, compared to then? The things I have said are just facts, Loyola may have some sell outs, that does not mean they have a big crowd. When SIU has as many people in the stands as gentile holds I consider it a decent crowd at best, not overly impressive. It is not insulting. Its like saying MLS games are selling out 18k venues and bragging about how theyre doing better than an NFL team who draws 50k to a 65k seat stadium... There is no logic in that.

LOL a sellout crowd of 4,000 people. You guys seriously need to stop bragging about "selling out". I respect what the Ramblers have done and am glad they finally have some fan interest but the attendance argument is not one that should be shoved in the faces of the other schools (except for maybe Valpo).

Then PM built the program up and cruised to an MVC title and a Final Four run.

It was also, "They are not relevant nationally. No one cares about them."

Loyola's MBB account now has 4x as many followers as any other MVC program on Twitter. Because of the Final Four run, Loyola had more publicity than any other MVC program not named Wichita or Creighton in over a decade.

Not to mention, "Yeah, but they play in front of an empty arena everyday and have no fans."

Now the gym is averaging a near sellout every game and will have six sellouts this year. Students line up for hours to get in. Apologies we didnt sell out games like Benedictine and Norfolk State and UNI at 6pm on a Wednesday on -50 weather.

Now it is "Yeah but they dont sell out every single game and being 10k fans to St. Louis. Pathetic!"

I bet if we sold out every single game, this board would be bashing the size of the gym even more and saying we need to build a brand new 10k capacity arena.

In case you didn't notice, nobody here is complaining about the quality of basketball played at Loyola. What we find dumbfounding is that your program was the favorite to win Arch Madness and you barely had fans show up. What we find dumbfounding is that you are bragging about filling a relatively small gym. It has nothing to do with respect for the program itself - Loyola has earned that. It has to do with wondering why a team that went to the Final Four (!!!) hasn't managed to draw even more people.

Now it's just up to Loyola fans to prove this board wrong. Show up as a force to St Louis and prove that Loyola has a fan base large enough and passionate enough to tip the scales for this conference.

So, this thread isn't about the Arch Madness seating chart? Sorry, I got confused by the subject.

Oh, it absolutely is. It's apparently about how Loyola needs to fill up the part of the chart it's designated to fill. :D

What if their part of the chart is smaller than other schools parts of the chart? If they fill it, does it still count?

This is a good question. What if they fill it to 80% of capacity? Is that better than if Evansville has more fans there in total, but only fills their section to 50% capacity?

Yes, I got a chart yesterday when I picked up my tickets. SIU's section(s) are the same as last year....115,114,113,112. UE is in front of us....not sure who is behind.

Illinois State, Valpo, Loyola and Drake will be in the sections in view of the TV cameras behind the benches.
